Tee-shirt now gone, sorry. But congratulations to Mr Zippy, who is now the owner of some fab new apparel!

In response to a question via email...
With respect to the tee-shirt, please note that it will be provided in a size of your choosing, i.e. not the size shown in the photo. Unless you are that size already, of course.

Oh, and RE: the $16 per head to remove the corks from bottles (amounting to a mere $3200 or so for the launch). Please don't forget that the staff are highly qualified for this job -- I hear they all have Ph.Ds in corkology (it's like astrophysics, only much, much more lucrative).

Oh, that particular page gave me a tea-down-the-nostrils moment.
Oh, already I can already see the headlines: "Respected journalist scalded by negligent prose of author"; "ACC finds that Hosking's nose will 'never be the same again', orders massive payout"; and "MPs applaud jail sentence given to author in Hosking's 'nose disfiguration' tragedy".

so can I get this along with your other gems please at the book launch, otherwise I will have to order now I guess? To know is a good thing but :)
Hi Sophie,
In theory we will have copies of all our books for sale at the launch (including Graham's).
In practice, however, they are all selling well, and there is a small (but non-zero) probability that we will have sold out of either of my books and/or Emma's by the Auckland launch on Dec 2.
So if you want to be 100 per cent certain, buy now (you can ask for a signed copy in the 'message to vendor' box when you pay via PayPal).
Many thanks,

There are some errors in the crossword David BTW. Check with your editor. I am shocked that he/she let such a puzzle through.
Heh! I was pretty proud of "The opposite of fish" as a clue.
Now I am thinking about poor Mr Done...
Imagine how difficult it's been for me to hold it in all this time. Now finally he has his comeuppance for his silly comments about the school-girls in their underwear -- perhaps the stupidest ever usage of "political correctness gone mad" in world history (which is a stiff competition). Oh, how he must be suffering (as I did).
Actually, I'm sure he won't care even the slightest.

I would describe my response to the final Bollard adventure as gleefully appalled.
I must confess that I was a tad concerned about the possible reception for this piece. But "gleefully appalled" (or Scott A's "appallingly gleeful") isn't too bad. It's certainly better than: "And so that was when I had to fire him".
The other bit I was slightly worried about was, y'know, page 37.

Although given that your use is unusually well considered and, dare I say - almost appropriate - I for one am prepared to overlook it.
Thank you!

I can vouch for the contents of the book. Sick, sick, sick. And very funny.
Thanks, Jolisa. I did my best on both (within the limitations of the available free fonts, of course)...
