Canadian politics. If you could combine that with data-based political analysis, you could market it as a cure for insomnia.

It's fairly standard for politicians to acquire an interest in sport once they start to seek public office. Mr Pigpoker can't even remember which team they decided he should support.

I still don't see how spending 25% of their revenue on amateur rugby makes that their *main* purpose. By any normal standard, their main purpose is professional rugby and a secondary purpose is the amateur game.

why is the PM allowed into the dressing rooms for obviously politically motivated photos?
Because he's the one who's paying the bills (using our money, of course)

- $4.5mln directly from the government
- Plus, they pay no income tax under a Taxes Act provision that exempts bodies established mainly to promote an amateur game or sport. Rugby has been professional since 1995 and whilst the NZRFU spends some money on amateur club rugby, it's a small portion of their total revenue.
I assume that they are allowed this somewhat extra-legal concession for political reasons.- and then there's all the loss making stadia that get subsidized by tax and rate payers.

You mean the AddBlue system, which is fitted on every newish truck in the EU.
Not mandated here, along with catalysts for petrol cars.
VW could ship practically any car to NZ and it would be allowed in as long as it passed vehicle standards someplace in the world. (and is RHD - for some reason, we can't have LHD cars even though the UK is fine with them).

I guess the rugby is an obligation to Cameron, in any games with England playing.
I'd imagine the (posh) England supporters will observe a stony silence, but will the other side (Wales & Australia, I'm looking at you) be doing a bit of oinking? Or the traditional chant, to the tune of "Guantanamera":
One piggy fucker, there's only one piggy fucker -
What is his influence outside the UK?
He's been over here, funding Crimestoppers.
Not sure if they pass on any tips about dodgy Belizean money-laundering to the DEA...

Hard News: On youthful indiscretions, in reply to
Two past Tory cabinet ministers (Archer and Aitken) have wound up in jail after lying (and/or getting others to lie for them) in libel proceedings.
You can understand how Cameron might be a bit leery of suing. One never knows when a witness might turn up out of the blue, although the pig is probably organic Waitrose sausages by now.
