Its still here - the garage bands, the theater, the oddballs in Garden place of a lunchtime. But it comes from and stays in Hamilton, it doesn't seem to travel, and seldom if ever makes the news, even in the "light hearted oddity to round out the bad news of the day" segment at the end of Nightline.
We can haz a culcha, it just ain't newsworthy. (V8s <> culture)Hamilton - a great place to live, but you wouldn't want to visit there. :-)

And mobiles don't exist
And call ID takes at least 60 seconds to identify the caller.

Can a person/company in NZ be injuncted not to break a law?
I don't think so - that's more or less what a law is - an injunction not to do something.

Ohhh, that makes sense. I was leaning towards a reference to Han Solo's favourite type of jeans.
And, yeah, I quite like that we have the Riff statue, but now you mention it, I can't recall any other newsworthy cultural offerings from here. Scientifical, yes; geeky, sometimes; agricultural, more often than not; but cultural, not so much. -
If the maximum possible fine is $100,000, it could be cheaper to just broadcast the ads from NZ.
Unless its $100,000 per Sunday, or per ad break, or per ad...

Are you talking whoppers as in porkies or as in bristols? Either way, good call...

There's no restrictions on product placement, except possibly alcohol.
Shortland Street apparently have a specific policy of not using real-life booze brands, but are quite happy to have blatant Apples all thru the hospital. -
Why not lead by example - drop ad frequency on the govt owned channels, or just on TV1 , charge more, and watch the advertisers clamour for slots on the channel with so many more eyes watching it.

If it just me or did anyone else not notice that there's a Sunday morning ad ban?
Its not like I sleep in til 12 every Sunday, and its surely not that I'm off at church. I mean, I've been watching What Now since before Steve Parr had a moustache, I was on What Now a fortnite ago (in the crowd with a kid on my shoulders when they broadcast from Hamtown gardens). I've never noticed a lack of ads. -
Sounds like an ideal match-up for the next 'fight for life' event...
