How to make Afghanistan better? I'd say legalise the drugs trade so the whole population can benefit from the crop exports, not just the Taliban.

Surely the Taliban feel they are doing their bit to make the world a better place too, at least according to their lifestyle principles, which are uncannily not far removed from a retrosexual's wet dream: running around in pyjamas all day, armed to the teeth with whatever gun you want, plenty of dope in the back yard, never having to shave and PMT under (burqa) wraps.
Sounds awfully like some tea baggers' ideas for life too. -
The "straight coach" of a boys rugby team was flawed sarcasm. The sacked guy was a female netball team coach who was gay. The uncomfortable analogy would have a straight man coaching a girls netball team. I think I'd prefer the gay coach in that instance.

Why not have simple, cheap and elegant solution like the Germans do in Berlin? A 'Fan Mile' down Tiergarten Park with huge screens hanging above. They would fit well down Queen Street.

That's why nude soccer should be played, like the nude rugby. Much more enjoyable and watchable. No more shirt pulling and much fun in the shower afterwards scrubbing the painted numbers of each others' backs. Happy days! (Might even blow your vuvuzela if you won)

Is that why new jeans these days are really not very sturdy and much more ill-fitting than they used to, or is it just that my butt looks big in them now?

AC Nielsen provides ratings for every 15 minute slot. due to the small number of people-meters around, for small niche channels the margin of error is enormous as to render a lot of figures completely useless to make decisions on scheduling or programme commissioning. Ratings are only good for mass channels who need to "prove" that they rate higher than their competing mass channel. Whether they tell the truth is unknowable and statistically questionable. Perhaps it's a cahoot between broadcasters, advertising agencies and ratings agencies to jack up the figures so they can charge everybody (especially the advertising companies) more.
