What annoys me is that if resources are so tight, as they all claim, that it is wasted on this petty bureaucratic audit stuff. It takes up so much time and energy from people who don’t have much of either.
Sounds like how a bad insurance company operates. I wonder if it's part of the hoary old divert, divide & dehumanise thing.

Sounds appalling to me and a bit I have heard from someone "on the ground " as it were , should be criminal charges.
Off the top of my head, I can think of graft or embezzlement. Treating also counts, unless it only applies to electoral politics.

V8 Supercars, Bathurst…
Who remembers “Godzilla”, banned from racing because it was just too good compared to other “supercars”.The racing GT-Rs not only ended the reign of the previously all-conquering Ford Sierra Cosworths in Australian touring car racing, but their incredible success ironically led to their demise. For 1993, the ATCC rules were changed to exclude four-wheel drive turbocharged cars, ushering in today’s two-make V8 Supercar series and closing a spectacular chapter in Australian motor sport history.
But the Nassan could well be coming back after its win at the Bathurst 12 Hour race win.
All the more so, after Holden & Ford shut down production in Oz soon. As I've mentioned earlier in the thread, I hope they bring back the Group A glory days.

See Aussie V8 racing – it was an entire racing code with a caveat that the cars had to be built using 1950’s technology. (I think they now race Japanese and German cars, the Australian motor industry having run out of buyers for their land yachts and closed down).
There have been thoughts out loud of shipping over the Ford Mustang & Chevy Camaro for whatever succeeds the V8 Supercars. Maybe a return to the Group A rules?

My limited understanding of boganry is that in order to qualify for full status under those parameters one had to have jumped on that bandwagon at any point up to and including …And Justice for All (1988)
Another is knowing off by heart all the past models of any Aussie-built cars (and Yankee ones too). My dad drove a few of them as company cars back in the 80s.

Like SERCO the knee jerk talk of incentives and performance goals (and national standards and ‘teacher incentives’) almost always leads to everything being bent to ticking the right boxes and myopia to the big picture at best; gaming the system or outright fraud at worst.
Neoliberal managerialism -working hard to make things worse :(Or otherwise any excuse to deny responsibility and pass the buck.
Latest I’ve heard is that the Oily One could face contempt of court charges and possibly jail time if found guilty. If he winds up in Serco-run Mt Eden, would friends in high places try to buy him out of it? If he’s thrown over a Mt Eden balcony or gets his face rearranged by fellow inmates, there’d probably be 100 cops on the case. In any case it'd be even more difficult to cover up.
