  • Hard News: Privacy and the Public Interest, in reply to UglyTruth,

Paying lipservice doesn’t diminish the hypocrisy of their secular laws.

Or the hypocrisy demonstrated everyday by people everywhere.
Just face it we're all just filling in time before we die and our species goes extinct.
Reforming govt is a waste of time. Whatever, I've had a wine and I dont give a shit!
I work in a shit job for shit money, and I supposed to think that those in power give a flying fuck about me! I long ago got rid of that illusion.

but the secular state has a problem with their religious origins.

No it doesnt they pay lipservice to it all the time.
The problem IMO is the flawed nature of the solutions they offer, many are deeply unpleasant. To say the least.
And our continued inability to separate the good from the useless. Religious organisations continuing to push the same message like tired barrow boys and not willing to give up their wares for scrutiny, and retire their barrows. There are many astute observations and insight into human nature in there. There just isn't an overarching... something... whatever.

  • Hard News: Show some decency,

that’s just a slip of the tongue because he’s a nice self-made hard-working kindy-goofy guy who’d be a great mate to have and not at all a professional back-stabbing hyper-intelligent sociopath capable of long-game scams and deceits for the benefit of his very small monkeysphere.

There is so often a difference between what someone says and what they do. Been going on for, well, as long as there have been people capable of such duplicity. A long time.
Buddha noticed it, so did Lao Tzu, and, someone who history has designated the name of, Jesus.
The America's indigenous population got on the wrong end of it.
Being honest is hard work, harder than moving your mouth, brain focussed on the goal, and making the socially acceptable (at the time) sounds come out.
Oh that's so easy. And we are intrinsically lazy (dont wanna rock the boat) comfort loving creatures.
Requires little intelligence just a low cunning.

And we need, everyone, to shun these people and what they represent.

    Which business?

PR. Or to get away from acronyms Public Relations. Is that a business??
    Bugger me!
Too many people are getting paid far too much, for just moving their mouths and sounds comes out, which are pleasing to the ears of a certain sector of the population.
Get a Job ...you lazy arse mofos. Who trusts Michelle Boag or Hooton??

that the election was somehow rigged.

Well not rigged just manipulated. Language is a weapon, when the rules of discourse become clay pigeons.
But be careful not to examine the barrel with your tongue... might blow your own head off.
    WHOOPS....

  • Speaker: Why I'm standing in Ilam,

Key likes us to believe that he and National are “safe economic managers”.

Why do arseholes in suits always think that about themselves?

  • Hard News: In The Green Room,

The Clean rivers is a good idea, but full of cosy words and light on detail. Such an aim will run straight into real opposition from the dairy "industry". Who will see it as costing farmers money, and so prices will have to go up they will tell us. How do they plan to deal with this? New Zealand should move away from its dairy heavy exports Do they agree? How can we start to head down this road?
