That's quite funny, 3410.
In fact, as everybody knows, Paul Henry was a fine Kiwi rugby league player who switched allegiance twice, first to rugby, and then to England.
-
he is singling out individuals to make cruel and personal remarks about which makes him a bully
And even worse: "About". Not "to".
None of his Breakfast targets were there to respond.

And the "PC brigade". I like to say "we're a regiment, actually."

What, do you have to be actually burning a cross on a guy's lawn before someone calls something racist in this country?
Still wouldn't make a difference. It's about reacting to the reaction, not the original racism. It goes from "Racist" to "Maybe he went too far" to "Don't condone" to "We're all getting too PC" in a matter of hours.

Love the road trip idea.
Here's my tuppence. The government is about to appoint the next Governor-General. At a stroke of a pen, the PM could earn a place in history, piss off the bigots, make the rest of us all feel warm and fuzzy about our country (and incidentally, John, win the election).
The next Governor General: Anand Satyanand.

everyone else has been angling
Probably true of TVNZ and the politicians. But the NZ Indian community sound pretty genuine.
One of the (many) sad aspects of this whole story is that the MSM are evidently far more interested in what this all means for Paul Henry, than what it means for the people he casually deleted from 'New Zealand'.

So, John Key sacks Paul Henry.
No, there isn't a memo in triplicate. Guns aren't smoking. But the Prime Minister has spoken ...
Steven Joyce on Newstalk ZB: "if I was him [Henry] I'd use this two weeks very carefully to think about exactly where this is going." (Herald)
If you've ever read 'Essential Phrases For Politiicians', you know exactly where this is going.

Lover, partner, hubby, whatever, you got it easy.
Spare a thought for us middle-aged hermits.
Single is sad. Celibate is worse.
I opt for "Wanker".

The GG speaks:
"I'm informed that I was born at Bethany Hospital, 37 Dryden St, Grey Lynn and I don't need to add much to that"
So, definitely not a real Kiwi then ... ;)

Another still, small voice: The Law Society expresses concern over the Gerry-mandate (sorry, "wrings its hands").
