  • Cracker: LOL,

I don't get how they couldn't find something better to talk about on Budget night. Or at least make it topical, like "if you did get a tax cut, would you spend it on more lotto tickets?"

  • Cracker: LOL,

Those glass tubes have become quite the fashion of late it seems.

Oh, and anyone else surprised and disgusted that TVNZ would see fit to devote a solid minute of their news hour to an investigation of the "golden street" of Tinwald on Budget Day? The moment when they were searching the vegetable garden for the "secret" was possibly the lowest moment I've seen in some time.

  • Hard News: He even has his Baldrick,

So far as I read Copeland was just bringing back the "Future" part of United Future. I had thought the two factions (Dunne vs. the Christians) were quite sundered some time ago and had only stayed together for the status of being "in power".

I guess the following will happen - either the various Christian groups will unite - that being Field, Copeland and misc. (FF/Destiny?) as a religious version of the Alliance. Or, more likely, they will all do their own thing and remain marginal as per usual

  • Hard News: What's on David Bain's iPod?,

This has given me a great idea - prisoners need stuff to do that keeps them occupied and not causing trouble, yet they still have urges like any other human. So lets provide all prisoners with gaming computers and subscriptions to fantasy role playing games - and tie priviledges in with success in the game.

I'm more interested to see when Bain gets hooked into online gaming. He likes computers and no one can judge you for your real life actions in a game! Sounds perfect!

Someone send him a World of Warcraft trial pack asap

Look to the left of the box where you type your response - it gives instruction on how to quote and the like.

Well Idour doesn't seem to be a particularly discreet kind of guy. Given how small a town Dunedin (socially, excl. students) is I expect we'll see a lot more of this kind of revelation if an enquiry comes out. I can't believe that Wishart would use someone so tainted as a source - any investigation on W's part should have shown that even if Idour is right, he is too good a target for people to attack.

  • Southerly: The Astonishing New Car from…,

I was talking to a friend who is Indian and had recently been back there on holiday after being away for a decade, and when I asked him if things had changed much he immediately said the big cities seemed less polluted. He attributed this to government measures which had forced rickshaw drivers (and maybe other drivers) to use cleaner fuel (CNG he thought).

Very interesting post and discussion thread, kudos to you all.

I for one can't take Wishart seriously because he insists on lacing his magazine with Bible literalist/Anti evolution propoganda every month. Now I don't doubt he clearly has strong beliefs there, as is his right, but it makes his news magazine intensely disjointed. Is his magazine a propoganda tool for his religious beliefs, or for NZ political scandal? It can't be both, not if he wants to be taken seriously.
