  • Hard News: The Music for Occasions, in reply to Sacha,

Oh, and no funeral shit on your birthday, sir.

Oh hell no. Like I said, the impending celebration just washed up the perennial playlist again. I am going to bust out some I AM STILL A-FUCKING LIVE tunes on Saturday.

  • Hard News: The Music for Occasions, in reply to Sacha,

I’d like those who knew me to chose my soundtrack. Seriously. The conversations about choices would be magnificent.

I don't trust my friends that much :-)

It really works well, with all contributers proving their talents at any one time. An observation of mine is there seems to be a “leave all stress at the door” sign before you enter. I like that. You do it well RB. You should feel very proud of yourself.

Aw, thank you. I was actually a bit angry about the number of no-shows early on – the venue had been strict about capacity, and that had meant I had to say no to people who wanted to come along. It was annoying to see empty seats at the sides.

But eventually, I realised that that didn’t actually matter to anyone else – it just made it easier to get to the bar. I missed out on chatting to a lot of people I knew, but I had a really good time – especially after the show. Keegan did a brilliant job up in the Safari Room, the now-traditional tour of the bowels of the Civic was as a great as ever, and we went up to Cut Collective’s studio off K Road for a little after-party. The amazing new Bizdojo Makerspace was open next door too – I’m quite keen on using that place for something cool. Just need to work out what.

One thing I think needs to go on record is that Logan Duff mixed the music for Cut Collective's piece live and on the fly -- he'd never seen the video before!

He told me afterwards he was just watching and trying to anticipate where it would go next. You really could not tell.

  • Hard News: OGB Update, in reply to BenWilson,

The impromptu tour of the inner cavities of the Civic complex was marred only by nature mewling at me continuously, having been spirited through a secret door moments before reaching the bathroom.

Bro, that's exactly what happened to me when we got the tour the last time we played the Wintergarden. Argh.

Where’s a shwarma when you need one?

I would so love one now.

  • Hard News: OGB Update,

    Last-minute lineup change.

Tom Scott will now only be DJing and Loui the Zu will be performing a short set. We'll also have the Watercolours 'Songs from the Backyard' video to screen.

Bit of a panic today, but I'm really happy with the shape of it now.

Meanwhile the Granny is going all, “The TPPA Is Here To Help Deliver You To Greater Prosperity”.

    What a thoroughly mad argument.

No worries, folks! We can just sign the agreement then ignore it! What could go wrong?
