Oh - you know, this is scary because it rings so true...

Thanks for this - helps me get beyond my gut "bullshit' reaction to the Holmes' piece and view it more analytically - and it's still bullshit.

The arrogance that Veitch and his team have displayed is incredible. This editing of character testimonials shows how low they were willing to go.
I won't watch or listen to anything with him in in future.

I would love to get there on Thursday but I'm going to my first ever Gay Stag Night.

I htink she'll be excellent in this role, and it's also great for NZ.

I hate earth hour! It just feels so sanctimonious and smug. I think I'll go and turn on every light and apppliance while its on ;-)
I was pissed off with the ban on incandesant bulbs, just because of the way it was done - I'd already swapped most of mine over, quite happily, but I didn't like having another ban imposed. This is one area where the market would have led people naturally to the better environmental choice.

You know I like the titles and the fact they're back. They're not hereditary, they don't convey that much privilege. They're like a little burst of fireworks around someone who has done something good, when things go right.
Michael Fay? Thea Muldoon? Embarrassments, but then so is Jonathan Hunt and didn't Kirk's wife get made a Dame? It's hardly as if Labour can claim any moral high ground here.
And why do we have to pull out the NZ dour Methodist "ohhh, someone's getting above themselves" attitude all the time? Why not celebrate achievement?
Dean Knight's idea of having Maori titles included as part and parcel of the whole thing is excellent - it makes embeds titles even more into NZ as a whole.

A thoughtful and interesting post Russell.

Glucina gives air-heads a bad name. Dumb, Dumber, Dumberest.
But I have to say the part of Go Girls I watched I thought was pretty lame - I will give it another go, but if it hasn't improved, I won't bother.
