I'm guessing mostly based on petal shape (lotus flower petals are wider & more rounded, water lilies more pointy) but I'm no expert.

I find public art strangely satisfying. Most times people (myself included) just walk past them without a second glance. But when I'm on the lookout for them, they seem to turn up in quite unusual places.

Not too much colour around the neighbourhood yet; I've been mostly taking pictures of food, streetscenes & sculptures of late, like this: "The Gold of the Kowhai" by Paul Dibble when in Napier last month.
(Though if the weather is good, I might take the camera for a walk this weekend & see how I go)
