  • Field Theory: Any room left on the…,

God I loved 90’s basketball, possibly because I was a teenager at the time. Doesn’t seem to hold the same sway now. There was Shaq, Shawn ‘the rainman’ Kemp, Stockton and Malone, Pippen, Jordan, Ewing, Hakeem the Dream… I could go on. Good times.

    Loving the Breakers as well

  • Hard News: Perverse Entertainment, in reply to Grant McDougall,

TV3 News led with the NZPA story, last night. Any ideas if TV1 even mentioned it ?

They did but it was further down the chain. Fairfax decided to print their own press release on it.... I guess what we will see is more press releases being printed in their entirety without any scrutiny.

Not trolling just replying. And you have me misunderstood, I am certainly in the Paul Henry is a nasty bigot camp. I just would have thought for a National newbie it might have been an easy PR exercise which her leader seemed to rejoice in.

  • Hard News: Time to get a grip, in reply to Craig Ranapia,

Well, Blair, I heard she walked because she couldn’t face Paul Henry first thing in the morning – which is a considerable mark of character and good judgement, in my book.

She couldn't face the questions of former National candidate Henry in the morning. Boy.

I would expect Jacinda Ardern to do well this year. Kaye’s had three years to impress, and really has not done so.

Sure its Breakfast, but it was kind of telling that at the beginning of this term Kaye was put up as one of the ‘Young Guns’ they chat to. She was replaced by Simon Bridges after about 2 weeks.

  • Hard News: The Wall and the Paper,

I despair with our Sunday papers here. It is the biggest thing I miss from living in Dublin (albeit that you can get the UK papers). I am compelled to buy both the Sunday papers because it is a ritual to read them for me, but I am flying through them at a rate of knots now. I do actually like some of the new style of SST, particularly having the music, film and book reviews together. If they could just get rid of Michael Freakin Laws I would feel a bit better.

The Herald on Sunday is, IMHO, even worse.

I told all of our guys, shut up, tone it down, make your argument intellectually. You don’t have to do it with bombast. I hope the other side does that
