  • OnPoint: Election 2011: GO!,

By the way, I follow 27 of you on Twitter, which is one reason I was so disappointed to the attitude to Ian deciding not to post here any more. You all just let him go without so much as a 'oh, that's a shame'. Nice to know where we stand.

So if you're going to make fun of the whining Tory, then you will just be adding to my enjoyment in life, so thanks.

If you could all give my apologies to Jackie tomorrow, that would be good. Something's come up.

    You win. Feel happy now?

Surely you can see how expressing surprise that a Tory party has reduced taxes to the rich and cut social spending is going to leave people a touch puzzled, yes?

Did I say I was surprised by that?

Tory sensibility hurt in aisle four. Quick, the violins!

[Redacted - even though Gio has quoted it on next page]

The decision to remove funding for victims of sexual crime. It was so surprising to everyone, they reversed it.
Not able to write more now, and not sure I want to become the second victim in two weeks of the circling wagons in any case.

This is going to sound very harsh, and I do regret that, but if you vote for a party that then acts in an entirely predictable way that is consistent with their election promises

O’Rly? But the actions, and I’m talking about in Social Welfare and Law Reform, were not consistent or entirely predictable, IMhO. I certainly expected more of The Maori Party in this respect, as we do have a coalition government, right?

Anyway, it's Friday. There's no centre point here, so can we agree to disagree, or do I have to take a pill?

For the record, I am not a swing voter. However, I have voted for the policies of a Labour goverment. Once. And the leader of the opposition at the time made that an easier proposition. Leave Clifford alone! What did he ever do to you?

(He JUST got all bitter about them on Twitter, Jack.)

Haha. Just read it. Well, isn’t it great how we have diversity in taste, and all that ;-)

  • Hard News: Hip in the Square,

I’ve missed the Friday music threads. Can I drop something new?

This is a song that reminded me of a whole lot of things that make me wanna cry. But in a good way. Not video, but allows you to play it here without leaving page.

Laneways was great, by the way.

ETA. Hmm, neither of above videos played for me. Might be temporary glitch on my side, but they played in YouTube.

Lost another post to the timing out clause.

    What did I write? Something like, but not exactly, this;

With the greatest of respect, I'm always a bit bemused by those who vote Tory, and who then act surprised when they act exactly like they did last time they were in power - privatisation, law and order, public sector cuts, etc

Would you respect me more if I wasn't disappointed?

And other stuff that sounded Ok the first time, but then sounded whiney.

There's a Friday post going on, and I'm in the mood for some music.
