Who is this Paul Thomas fellow?
At a guess, one of NZ's few crime novelists?

comedy designed for the web doesn’t have to be a poor relation to television.
No. Hope I didn't imply that!
Web delivery is incredibly liberating. There's no BSA for a start :)
More importantly, durations are far more flexible and there are no execs wanting this toned down or that hyped up, or saying "we love this, just a few tiny changes..."
And it's the future... people watch it whenever, and it can be available forever.
Just revenue is the big question-mark. -

paranoid about the safety of products they feed to their kids
Breast-feeding? (Genuine question: does the formula go to babies, or toddlers? Is it in addition to breast-feeding in China or replacing it?)

A generatonal difference in ambition, perhaps?
Possibly, though even old folks see the power of youtube…
What’s not so apparent is the ability to fund production via youtube partnerships/ad revenues. Sponsorship could work, but we’re all a little wary of that.

It’s interesting that Roseanne isn’t desperate to do that – maybe they’ll keep it as a webseries, given the international potential for it.
Watching more last night, I reckon that's a good move 'cos it works better on the web.
There's some serious acting talent and decent production values. But there's also a little bit of a ramshackle home-movie aren't-we-having-fun quality that works well online but might not quite work on commercial TV.
Maybe :) -

he thought that she must have been seen as some sort of hero to the people of Britain
In all the eulogising (from conservatives) it's not often mentioned she was ditched by the Conservatives not ousted by some resurgent 'Left". (And US commentary seems especially blind to how divisive- and hated- she was in parts of Britain.)

I, personally, do not subscribe to the Keith Locke school of thinking that NZ lives in a totally benign environment in which the only threats to NZ come from our intelligence services’ existence.
Neither do I, and I'm pretty sure neither does Keith Locke :)

And Lange:“She addressed me as if I were at a Nuremberg rally”, he said after meeting Margaret Thatcher.
