Before throwing stones maybe you should've checked out these sites first:
http://www.labour08.co.nz/
http://www.labour.org.nz/index.htm
Not exactly current, are they?Whoa, do you think I'm a Labour webmaster or something? Because I'm not! I'm so not.
If Labour haven't updated their websites, then that's just as bad as National.
Not everyone is hungover on a Sunday, and if some web content has been prepared in advance, it doesn't take much effort to put it online.
But my impression is that few parties have done awesome things with their websites this election or at all, really. The Greens' Frog Blog is the one political web presence that really gets it (two updates today!), possibly because it's not trying to be the voice of a specific politician.

She's obviously a clever young woman. Plus she must've ran a good campaign to win a previous Labour stronghold.
I believe the boundary of Auckland Central was tweaked slightly to compensate for its increasing population. I'm not sure exactly what the change was, other than it's now a smaller area. Perhaps it now includes less of the more left-leaning suburban areas and more millionaires have returned to Waiheke. Heh.

It says that our main assets are food production, scenery and Kiwi ingenuity. That's why you'll never see a farmer on a bike.
Ah, the old food, scenery and ingenuity speech. Where did the ideas in that come from? Some New Zealand tourism promo film from the '80s?
In other news, JohnKey.co.nz still declares him to be "Leader of the Opposition".
Considering how quickly the Democrats got the Change.gov website up and running, it's unacceptable that Key's website hasn't been updated. It's the interweb not a fax.

I got a fright when I saw a colour-coded electoral map in today's SST - so much blue!
Then I realised something - all the Labour seats were in urban areas, specifically the traditional "four main centres" of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Oh, and Palmerston North.
I'm not sure what this says about New Zealand.

Well, I'd have thought any vote for the Labour candidate by a Green voter would have been a tactical vote. Why would they have had to rely on a poll?
Wouldn't it have been much simpler if the Greens had not run a candidate in Ohariu and then encouraged Green supporters to vote Labour?

Also, I would like Robyn to liveblog my life.
I'll second that.

Worst bit from Key's speech - when he said he had contacted Tariana Turia and told her National had a "willingness to engage in dialogue" with the Maori Party. You can take the boy out of investment banking, but you can't take investment banking out of the boy, evidently.
Best bit - Grant Robertson winning Wellington Central. I'm really happy to have him as my local MP. It's the first time the MP I've voted for has won!
I'm off to bed now. I live-blogged the whole thing and did a bit of Twittering too. It's a fun way to enjoy election night when you're not within reach of a crazy election night party.

Epsom is a story for our times.
I am rather relieved to not be in Epsom any more! I hated having to vote for a candidate I didn't necessarily support, in a tactical vote.
Wellington Central is so much simpler and straightforward!

You know, this is the first election where I've actually met one of the candidates standing for my electorate. I met Grant Robertson (Wellington Central's Labour canddiate) a couple of months ago at a meetup for Wellington-based Twitter users. He was really friendly and engaging and recognised my name from here!
I've seen Stephen Franks, the National candidate out and about, but I haven't spoken to him yet. He always seems too busy talking to, uh, other white males his age to talk to me!

I was talking to an 18-year-old who will be voting for the first time tomorrow.
I asked her who she was voting for, and she said, "Not Helen Clark! I'm soooo sick of her!" But, I said, you can't vote against someone; you can only vote for someone.
So she decided she would probably vote for ACT because "Rodney Hide is quite funny."
It made me think she was treating it like a text vote for a TV talent show.
