Phew, Joyce's vision thing.
Approached after the discussion, Joyce referred to the “five-point plan” enunciated in his speech to the Telecommunications Day conference (Computerworld May 19). Government’s priorities are still with “e-health” and “e-education”, he says, but also embraces e-government, e-business and an “e-development” component he acknowledges is hard to define. -

Locking journalists out of the tuppawaka opening was a doozie as well. There are so many instances of totally incompetent behaviour round RWC spending. The cloud, tubeworm future itself is being debated, no real ideas and it's not purpose built for the timeframes they are quoting. Sadly I think it will become a desolated white elephant.
And again I'd say I'd be real pissed if I was a local business owner downtown. -

It's very difficult to calculate value derived from the spend when we don't know what the strategic objectives were... = good times?
The Govt. and Council don't seem to need these things (the value equation) in order to spend, spend more, and finally just say plainly, $spend + good times = good spend? Joyce is amazing at it, Key awesome and English, well...very creative.
The figures never seem to add up until the spin comes in. -
