I recall on TV Billy Connelly (I think it was) saying he'd bet this guy he could do two full-legth shows without repeat himself and succeeded. Presumably he would generally throws in whatever of his material seemed appropriate at the time.
I does seem tragic and dangerous to be doing a new show with old material, but I can imagine how one might decide that not doing your best stuff is insane, expecially with something as pass/fail as standup.

...judged blog awards...
I've been told someone once ran web awards such that users rated rather than simply voted. Probably wouldn't work so good on the small scale, but still.
Congratulations, of course.

Also, the $4 post mix diet coke at Subway would have cost them around 50 cents.
The story made Fark Fark yesterday. Thread contains much about cost of soda and things people got up to when they worked for Subway.
While the act of sharing may be considered by some wanker to have turn the drink into one she should have had to one she shouldn't, the idea it might have actually cost them anything more than change - if it cost them a sale at all - is kind of utterly risible.
One assumes manager was looking for an excuse.

wonders if we can expect a subway campaign like Ribena's
Compounding the offence? (link to my blog FWIW)
I don't imagine Subway will be hurt by any resolution of mine not to got there, considering. My main contact is walking past a place on the way to work where the smell they pump onto the streets is like dried thyme and hot foam rubber. I once overheard someone saying they liked the smell. Different worlds, there - though whether through nature or nuture I was unable to determine.
There's a protest in Auckland on Saturday too btw.
I'll observe that if RB and DPF are both doing it, it's probably not just bloggers boycotting Subway. I have to say I do feel some sympathy for every other fanchisee, but not enough that it would effect any plans I might have.

i got that with auto-illustrative, as in "word", "English" and "abstruce". a kind of sematic onomatopoeia.
There's a word for that! Awesome!
"obfuscatory"
On verbing, I recall John Ralston Saul complaining about how some managment-speak words get bounced back and forth and gain a syllable every time. -
His methods remind me of something not very American
Was it from a link here that I saw Jon Stewart interviewing Kurt Vonnegut? That was double proof that at least some Americans get irony.

because it's not about trying to make a living
I'm reminded of a story in French actor Jean Louis Barrault's memoirs. He's at a dinner sitting beside a shipping magnate and the're not getting on. Eventually (exaggerated from memory)...
Mangate: So you (snarf) don't make much money, do you?
pause
Barrault: Do like the shipping business, then?
M: Sure.
B: Do you love it so much that, if could barely make enough money to support yourself, you would still do it?
After that, they got on famously.
Che has a point, but thinking about the RIANZ guy or whoever it was saying musicians were having to have other jobs, I have to admit I'm wondering when that didn't happen.

It's a great rule though because, if anyone tries to start a new religion you can say, "Stop! Hammer time!".
