  • Hard News: Stupidity and ignorance have…, in reply to John Farrell,

No - just trying to shed a little light on the reality of "Global Warming". Here is a bit more for your information...... enjoy.

““…one has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth…”- IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer (2010)

“No matter if the science of global warming is all phony … climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world.” – Christine Stewart, former Canadian Minister of the Environment

“We have got to ride the global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic policy and environmental policy.” — Timothy Wirth, former U.S. Undersecretary of State for Global Issues and U.S. Senate Chamber temperature adjuster

  • Hard News: Stupidity and ignorance have…,

This change of policy by Trump was inevitable. After decades of doom and gloom reality is Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming [as it used to be called] still has many disbelievers within the Science Community. Global Warming is merely a political tool to enable $Billions to flow into the UN under the guise of Saving The Planet. It is a boondoggle folks; and I am not the only one who believes that to be true. E.g.
The February 23, 2017 Petition sent to President Trump signed by Dr. Richard Lindzen and more than 300 eminent scientists, engineers and other qualified and knowledgeable experts requesting that the U.S. withdraw from the UNFCCC reflects yet another significant effort by hundreds of scientists and other experts to expose to our Government leadership and public the deeply flawed scientific foundation underlying the politics of global government driven climate alarmism.

This will now lead other Governments to reconsider their commitment to the Paris Agreement which will become another Kyoto type failure.

What does this tell us about the anecdotal evidence which P.M. English has received about drugs being a problem for some Employers trying to hire new drug free staff?

  • Polity: Cold, calculated and cynical, in reply to Russell Brown,

Russell - You should consider why Carter called her to order:
Her "question" began with a long series of statements, all beginning with the phrase "Given that....."
After about half a dozen of those, Carter brought her to order, asking her to get to the question. I.e. it is not to be a speech followed by a question.

He regularly pulls up members of the Opposition for this type of "question via a speech" technique. Nothing new here regarding his ruling.

    Hi Dan
    Re: http://www.sciencemediacentre.co.nz/2015/05/15/nz-climate-attitudes-survey-expert-reaction/

“....why has there has been a shift in opinion (a drop from 75% of New Zealanders thinking climate change an urgent or immediate problem in 2008 to only 53% in 2012)? “

Because, 30 years of crying wolf continues to sound more and more hollow.

For example the desecration of the British country side with useless windmills has been a factor in the Tories winning another 5 year term. Now they are turning off the windmill subsidy tap, and kick starting fracking.

  • Envirologue: Too Big to Fail – Why…, in reply to tussock,

Hi Tussock – an impressive response, thank you.

You may not be aware that the IPCC have admitted they don’t know what the future climate is going to be – just as well given they could not predict an 18 year flat-line of temperature while CO2 climbed from approx 350ppm to 400ppm.

They stated the following in a rare feat of honesty:
“In climate research and modelling, we should recognize that we are dealing with a coupled-nonlinear chaotic system, and therefore that long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible.” IPCC Third Assessment Report (2001), Section 14.2.2.2, page 774
Sort of says it all, doesn’t it.

But, you will ignore the evidence as usual; shoot the messenger, and generally continue to cry wolf.
Well doomsters, 30 years later and doom is not over the horizon, and the good news is most folk have stopped listening to your message.

  • Envirologue: Too Big to Fail – Why…, in reply to James Bremner,

    Hi James
An excellent summary of the reality.

The truth behind the Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming alarmism is being exposed bit by bit.

E.g. - UN Climate Change Chief Christiana Figueres:

“This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history“, Ms Figueres stated at a press conference in Brussels.
“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution. That will not happen overnight and it will not happen at a single conference on climate change, be it COP 15, 21, 40 – you choose the number. It just does not occur like that. It is a process, because of the depth of the transformation.”
