So WAR must be resisted, resisted and opposed full stop. I still believe most will not get it but the above should tell all, hey war is SHIT and must not be allowed, only if people across cultures take a stand will this be stopped, I fear most will not get it.

So I am sorry, but the western people in comfy comfort need to learn what really goes on in the world, this is you risking your own credibility and rights to exist as democratic countries if you do not act, take up refugees and ignore all else, you do this at your own peril, the war will sooner or later come to haunt you, so there you go.

  • Polity: Post "post-truth" post,

An intelligent discussion, provided by Colin Peacock, and also commentary by a not so convincing Andrea Vance, but better commentary by Mr Bill Fish from Massey University. This tells us what is going on, in regards to conditioning and brainwashing, misinformation and so forth, which helps Nats to stay in power:

Over inundation with information, now via social media, leads people to simply cling to and believe their own bias.

We do live in a post truth era, this is fact, no further convincing needed from my point of view.

  • Speaker: A Disorderly Brexit, in reply to nzlemming,

Further to the above, I know people in Europe, having run family farms or businesses for two generations, now stuffed, facing bankruptcy, this partly due to "globalisation" and EU alignment of economic policies, they are at their end, some close to nervous breakdown. We have farmers in New Zealand faced with huge debt, having gone into dairy, now more or less bankrupt, we have immense shakeups on a global scale, also affecting ordinary workers, not benefiting.

And then we get certain "idealistic" people with tertiary degrees, with privilege, in charge so to say, tell us how "stupid" we are when we question things, maybe take a walk and do some reflecting, the EU is screwed, the world is screwed, and nobody commenting here has the answers, I dare say even Andrew Little failed again for Labour today, to announce some fancy housing program to be realised with the help of usually profit focused, self interested developers.

The time is ripe for some real revolution, many out here had enough, and some high minded academic commentary by the always know better people does to many only sound like endless arrogance, being out of touch, thank you.

    Privilege sucks, I dare say.

Good to see You Tube finally catching on to what madness is still available via their service. One would have thought that certain stuff was no longer available, but they constantly seem to be busy with catch up game with the culprits.

Maybe we also need the NSA doing more cyber-security and surveillance, after all?

Haha, did you not read my response above?

Well, maybe it is due to views like yours, and the implied claim of being infallible, that the Brits did in their majority vote exactly as they did in that EU referendum.

  • Speaker: A Disorderly Brexit, in reply to John Farrell,

Well, many go on about the "Brexit" vote in the UK and about Europe, but do not bother listening to and reading about the very arguments the ones in favour of an exit from the EU have delivered over the years.

One may agree or disagree, I thought it is worth listening to what some Eurosceptics or opponents to the way the EU is run have to say. It is not without reason that the "Brexit" happened, and it is not without reason that there is a growth in somewhat nationalist movements in many European countries and democracies.

I would have preferred a more united Europe, but the ones leading the EU have failed to put into place systems that would have united the EU, hence we have it now at risk of falling to bits as a failed project.

The UK though played a particularly unusual role, as most UK governments never wanted to accept the obligations that came with the EU membership and continually tried to negotiate special rules for the UK and exemptions from obligations, thus enjoying special privileges.

That was due to some in the UK having been more insular minded and eurosceptic all along, which has led to them influencing UK government policy, which has finally led to what we have now, the vote to leave.

Cameron himself sent signals to eurosceptics, that they were right in part, so this only emboldened opponents to further EU membership and integration. He did this only recently by seeking further special and separate deals with the EU, which were given to him, as the rest of the EU leaders feared the decision of the UK to leave may materialise.

Why not have Mr Farage's speeches under this topic, as they speak for themselves, and represent the concerns and thoughts that led people to vote as they did?
