Interesting that this type of news provider seems to be undergoing a bit of a resurgence (by this I mean a move away from the trivial). Pundit and Public Address (particularly PA Radio) both seem to operate in that same space that seemed to have fallen out of favour with the profit driven media.

Pundit.co.nz's "daily digest" approach could be a good example of a value-add in taking information from different sources & remixing to add value, just as Public Address seems to create value in providing community & discussion for traditional news and topics slightly outside of the traditional news domain.

Makes me wonder if rather than operating as entirely separate entities, if there is an opportunity to create synergy between the sites and also agree to avoid creating competition for site viewers time.
