  • Speaker: John Roughan is Scared,

Haywood had the answer. Get rid of the gas guzzlers.

IIRC his answer was a bit more nuanced than that. Lets not upset the poor fellow by reducing his considered answers to slogans.

  • Speaker: John Roughan is Scared,

Joyce on matters rail becomes very, very short-sighted.

    Not just him.
    Bennett on matters beneficiary.
    Tolley on matters education.
    Collins on matters criminal.
    Brownlee on matters resource.
    And Key on anything.

  • Speaker: John Roughan is Scared,

Note how the sun moves across the sky and casts pretty shadows...

The earth's rotation must be increased by 10x its present speed when they build that "interchange" for the shadows to move that quickly.
They must have a hotline to the celestial bus/sun controller.
Well one good thing, the working day will be over in a flash.

  • Speaker: John Roughan is Scared,

it was too unreliable, and you can't tolerate that when you have to get to work.
Man, are you guys so not Italian :-)

Or unaware of many of the best traditions of the working peoples

And if an Italian is late for work it ain't the fault of their trains which, like most in Europe, are fabulous.

  • Hard News: Doing Science in Court,

This is why I often think the cock-up theory of history is more plausible than the conspiracy theory alternative

The first cock-up probably gave birth to the first conspiracy stories. And the pattern seems to have stuck.
    Pure conjecture. OK

  • Hard News: Doing Science in Court,

From a link by George D.

Be prepared for conflict with the candidates and their staffs. Their job is to win the election, to improve their chances and cripple the other guy. If that means supporting confusion, ignorance, neglect, demagoguery or silence on certain issues, they will not hesitate to do that. We know this.

    This just makes me sad.

  • Hard News: Ideology for Evidence,

When it comes to selling a backwards direction as the way forward these NAT's have nothing on this guy. Or perhaps their friends on Facebook.....

  • Up Front: The C Word,

transfer across both classes and really help out, like being observant, and a good mimic, and having great boobies.

I guess 2 out of 3 doesn't cut it in these stakes.
Anyway I've been perversely protective of my descent through the classes of NZ. It's curiously not that far to the bottom, and the landing is hardly noticeable.
Now to plot my ascent, I'm sure my timing will be spot on in this rise.
