  • Hard News: Changing Times,

Beatles started out as pale imitators of US bands, they did OK in the end.

  • Hard News: Changing Times,

While I would acknowledge that there is more NZ music around, that doesn't meant that it a good thing. I know music is ridiculously subjective, but is it really a good thing artists like Midnight Youth, Dane Rumble etc to get funding. Sure they shift units, but they are often just pale imitations of overseas bands.

Meanwhile, like you mention Russell, other musicians stuggle for funding. Or are we preaching to the Classic Hits brigade who need to fill their quota?

  • Field Theory: In the middle of the night,

I have fond memories of watching football. I used to watch the highlight package (probably match of the day or something) back in the late 80's. One of the first games I remember watching was the unbelievable Arsenal vs Liverpool of 1989 when Arsenal won the Championship on the last kick of the season.

I don't the champions league format, as long as Spurs make it this year. I seem to be cursed with supporting teams who almost make it, Spurs, Hurricanes, All Blacks...

I just hope his parents are investing the money properly otherwise he will end up in ten years on a 'where are they now' or Celebrity Rehab.

Still at least we don't have these guys to contend with. My irish nieces are Bat crazy over them. Beiber is Kurt Cobain compared to them

  • Cracker: Hands in the Middle....,

I hate to say it but nothing good does happen after 4am in a bar except usually hooking up with someone you really didn't want to under normal circumstances.
Having said that I think what will happen is you will have everyone on the street at once, cue more fights and it will be impossible to get a taxi. This was exactly what it was like in Dublin when I lived there and bars closed at 2.

  • Hard News: We invented everything,

Does anyone remember 'Going Straight' where people had to do a number of tasks that involved going in a straight line. That was pure genius whoever came up with that

  • Hard News: We invented everything,

Flatmates was definitely more like the Real World, if I remember rightly it was more of a fly on the wall doco and they could leave the house.

But if you want to see reality tv taken to the sky, watch Jersey Shores... I'm not sure they can use the word reality in that

  • Cracker: About a Boy,

It was ok, but not the greatest. I too thought Two Cars, One night had more in it than in Boy. A little too cliched and easy really.
I feel if they had focused more on the children and less on the father it would have been a much better film.
