  • Hard News: This whole, glorious trainwreck,

__Of course all the luminaries and erudite readers of his “blog” have weighed in but they all neglect to observe the salient point that Russell Brown reads my blog.__

You like me! You really like me!

Ooh. Needy. Does he want a hug?

  • Hard News: So far from trivial,

These things go in cycles. It might appear that the discussions are more entrenched or less fresh, and then it'll swing around again. What'll often happen is that there's a topic that moves people to de-lurk and then go on to become valuable contributors. Others will lose the mojo and move on.

What I do quite often see is the first-time post all set-about with apologies for an imagined lack of style or substance -- and I think "actually, that was bloody good". Yes, people do get a bit intimidated by the level of discussion at times, but there are worse problems to have.

Anyway, I can say there are a few things coming that'll freshen things up a bit. Two new entrants to the stable, an interesting guest poster, then some technical improvements as I can manage (and fund) them.

  • Hard News: Something odd and unresolved,

__Instead of simply noting the obvious, he pretends this is some new virtue - don't ask me what I'll do, ask me about what I am.__

"A vicious, nasty little homophobe" is what I remember from his ACT days.

Quite! It's really quite odd for a personality as weird as Franks to be urging people to take him on character. I mean, who's the constituency for that?

  • Speaker: Won't Someone Please Not Think…,

And this morning I read this Death of Free Internet is Imminent- Canada Will Be Test Case which I'm hoping is merely conjecture at this point.

I'm leaning towards "crazy conspiratorial bullshit" ...

Russell. Can we please have BY lines on System? I had to make the giant leap over to PA to find that Emma wrote this piece.

  • Hard News: Something odd and unresolved,

they will have gelded themselves in terms of holding a National govt to account.

This has occurred to me. It's a fine line they tread.
