Oh, he does troll, but usually about software. Dave Lane (open source guy from Chch) is one of his usual antagonists. I don’t think he was trolling last night, but he wasn’t prepared to listen either.[ETA] which, on reflection, is standard behaviour ;-)

He was, but you need to learn when not to engage personally, buddy. The only way to deal with Brett is either lightly, or expect the worst. He's not stupid, but he is completely one-eyed right wing.

Joyce's office reacted hard and fast to an article in Wednesday's Herald with a note threatening a Press Council complaint if the article was not corrected to his specifications. The Herald is standing by the story.
He's just another bully. I don't have a lot of time for the Herald, but I hope they nail him.

I tend to look ominous and say "Trust me, you really don't want to know!"
Has the advantage of being both excruciatingly honest (though they are unlikely to admit that) and suitably dramatic, without going into medical detail ;-)

I suspect you would be going from "free speech" to "really frickin' expensive speech" and, under NZ's defamation law, PAS would be regarded as the publisher and thus liable as well.
