. . . if they acknowledged the existence of subtext, they’d have to listen when people complained about it. Much easier to pretend it doesn’t exist.
A far more likely possibility than those who habitually use such shoptalk walking the walk and producing a half-way watchable movie themselves.

Imagine what her boss Obama has to wade through. How on earth does one come to any understanding of what is really going on. Or maybe people with good judgement can cut through and make good decisions.
Go on Neil, make a wish, pin it to your Xmas stocking. Perhaps his Obamaness will slide down your chimney and relieve you of the need to keep making these endless infantile affirmations.

I hardly think public opinion concerning people on bikes is going to improve if they get into the habit of throwing things at cars, magnetic or not.
Once upon a time the Herald ran a piece on the problem people that lifeguards had to deal with on Auckland’s West Coast beaches. The real doozy was a guy who knowingly refused to swim between the flags, and justified it by invoking his status as a cyclist. Because he got it all the time from motorists he wasn’t going to take shit from lifeguards.
Easy to picture a guy like that printing out death threats on sheets of fridge-magnet media
