and got to rename the shore to the north of Auckland Birkenhead.
Hare had gone bald by this time.

aha! The famous littoral receding hare line...

...of course with Sherlock Holmes pursuing them, they knew the game was afoot, and changed again to Birkenstocks, right?

    Franks incenses...

we don’t know how to get there but we want it … that’s a start

Another start would be not enabling or condoning the thuggish behaviour exhibited by Ben Franks, in that adrenalised game against the Boks yesterday.
Hansen has just passed it off as dumb, and I am just appalled by that - what signal does it send the people of New Zealand, that you can live in a Jack Reacher novel, that bullying and violent over-reactions are okay.
Franks is a complete dick and should be off the team and sent for re-education.
The team that represents me/NZ does not behave that way - sorry!
Sure it is a violent game (def not t/winks) but it has rules, just like life, and no one should be able to think they can get away with that crap - Hell he must have known there were millions of eyes on him - what goes through his head.
Start the change at the top, and emphasise it all the way down...

…with the judge who ought to rationalise the decision of a jury

    Did you mean sought ?

Otherwise he ‘ought’ to do his job within the letter of the law – and there are few (if any) Laws proscribing dress style in the urban environment…

<edit: I see you have sorted that sought, I oughta checked again ;- ) >

Perhaps this is a problem exacerbated by the Judiciary and the Police, not acting as the deterrent they may have been in the past?

See this article on a recent Hagley Park mugging – many in the comments say Police do little about similar crimes…

Adobe seems to be made of straw and dirt and water...

If you have Adobe Flash on your computer, and most of you do, you are probably being spied on and Adobe does their best not to let you know or do anything about it. Fundamentally, rich video content is only the drug Adobe wants you to get hooked on, but make no mistake, one of the main purposes of Flash is apparently to secretly compromise your privacy. Flash cookies allow online advertising networks to covertly and uniquely track your internet use. This is not only a PC problem, but affects Linux, Mac, and mobile devices that support Flash.

Adobe Systems Inc. is expected to announce today that hackers broke into its network and stole source code for an as-yet undetermined number of software titles, including its ColdFusion Web application platform, and possibly its Acrobat family of products. The company said hackers also accessed nearly three million customer credit card records, and stole login data for an undetermined number of Adobe user accounts.

    I couldn’t help liking Edinburgh

the pipes, the pipes, are calling…
It seems there is a concerted effort going on to tattoo Edinburgh onto my consciousness – having just finished the late, lamented Iain Banks’ Whit* and started Sergei Lukyanenko’s The Last Watch – both of which feature Edinburgh, and now this morning, its all Fear and Lothian park life, here…
    (albeit tres amusing…)

    * Pedant’s aside: I am bemused by the graphic disconnect between the cover art (of the edition I read) and the story line – dunno what it says about visual editors or general knowledge – the book has a river trip on an inner tube, the cover depicts a floating tyre, tread and all!!
Is this the legacy of tubeless tyres?

No consistency, I thought this government
was all about the 'strip mining'...

..and as an aside, I can't believe we all helped pay for, and build, the new Mighty River Power geothermal power station, that we suddenly now only half own!
    What a generous country....
