    Weird, I'm loving Studio 60! 30 Rock..not so much.

Yeah, me too. I like 'em both, but if one had to be canned I'd have picked 30 Rock, and I love Alec Baldwin. 30 Rock is kick-back mindless fun, Studio 60 is a drama about a comedy. (Though the episodes where they have to rescue a cast member arrested while dressed as Jesus in Buttfcuk, Redstate are hilarious.) I expected to find Matthew Perry teeth-grindingly awful, he's great. And spotting the West Wing injokes is fun in a dreadful nerdygrrl kind of way.

Heh, you too? I was really hoping they'd go back to Dr Who when they took off Stargate, and keep Monday Night Scifi sacred. My partner's already talking about running cable across our lounge.

A friend of mine who is a legal secretary in Oklahoma says it's illegal there to own more than two sex toys - that indicating intent to supply.

Just thinking about harm reduction, needles, Manchester st Prostitution and the deathly violence dealt to those vulnerable women.

That makes one of you. I don't quite see how it relates to David's audio or my inadvertent suggestion that he film Alan Bollard under water.

Any move to have street prostitution in small shop fronts like the Amsterdam red light areas?

I'm not entirely sure what I did to deserve this. I've no qualification to offer opinions on prostitution, and the first thing I'd do is listen to people who did. Like, y'know, prostitutes.

But if you're asking if I'd like to be able to choose women out of windows, it's got a lot going for it. I'd like some kind of menu system though. Potted bio, likes and dislikes, that sort of thing.

    Facebook, maybe.

"Velvet throating with Craig and David". Was I wrong to think that? It's probably illegal in ChCh anyway. That place is more of a cow-worrying town.

I often think, wandering about the streets of Chch, you know if it weren't for all these worried cows and exploding P labs, it'd be so much easier to find some hot gay sex.

Whenever I meet an attractive young Public Address reader of the female persuasion, the conversation seems to follow the same depressing pattern.

    This is probably because

You're a scholar and a gentleman, Mr Haywood.

You need to look more carefully in the corners for demure young skirt-wearing things sighing longingly over a glass of wine and volume of Byron.

    Commentary soundtrack? Extras?

I'm looking forward eagerly for the full submersion experience of A Night Out With Alan Bollard...

My family's first computer was a grand ol' Dick Smith VZ200

Hey, me too, about 1983 or 4 I think. I learned some very basic BASIC trying to teach that thing to do stuff. No memory, of course, so you had to start all over again next time and I couldn't leave it switched on cause it interfered with the TV reception.

Kingdom is really very comfy slipper indeed. Friends in England shipped us the first three eps and I'll probably watch the rest of it, but even though I like that sort of thing I found it a bit bland.

Anyway, who doesn't want to see A Dog's Show again?

Only watchable with most of a loaf of still-warm fresh sandwich bread in an orange waxed-paper wrapper with a monk on it.

  • Southerly: For Those in Need of Sleep,

When you stop and realise that you've suddenly been posessed by one or more of your parents, and they're talking to your kids

And when you realise your kids are channelling your childhood self. ("But why do I have to get dressed? Are we going somewhere?) A good tipper for this is if you're complaining about your kids to your mother and she points at you and falls out of her chair laughing.

The first steps and first words are overrated IMHO, but the first time they finish a verse of Hairy Maclairy that you're reading them is a sure warm fuzzy.

Yeah. Or the first time you hear your daughter sing the "Inky Wanky Spider" song...

No, second children exist so they can play with the first child and give the parents a freakin' break for 5 freakin' minutes!!
