Up Front: Sex with Parrots, in reply to
Polynomial relations and other polymath...
Spreading the domestic and financial burden across more people means that everyone has more, not less, time, energy and resources to spend on their romantic relationships.
Sounds great. Not something they'd want
to go pair-shaped again, I'd imagine...I'm afraid Stephen's math leaves me cold...
I have enough trouble working out binomial coefficients
but I'm all for anything that creates a family of positive integers.Math may be for ever but people can change
maybe there is the odd long division, a little subtraction
and even some carrying on but in a universal system
it ain't all fibonacci sequences and phi in the sky
there's all kindsa factors involved that can create
a polyphase sequence leading to complex roots of unity.
Each to their own without doing harm... -

Hard News: The Editorial Image, in reply to
odious ideas…
a man like Lhaws who has an opinion on everything,
especially “feral underclasses” …He’s back it again today (if you care to search it out, I shan’t enable you), but his intro could easily describe National politicians and their preoccupations – just by adding an ‘ed’:
As readers will know, there exists a sub-species of New Zealander I call “the federals”.
They’re a group of individuals lacking empathy, insight and intelligence and often subject, it seems, to the instinctive or impulsive action.
They are an untamed, untrained underclass that manage to combine transience, welfare dependence, criminal activity, violence – and a remarkable reliance upon alcohol and/or drugs. They distil all this into the federal lifestyle. -

they have a kea aura...
What they lack in elegance they make up for in character.
My dad always used to recount the tale of the wekas stealing their spoons while he and his brother were working, cutting posts, in the West Coast bush... Each accused the other of losing them until one day they came back to the camp site and spotted a weka heading off with a spoon in its mouth...
