I love good architecture, whether it be old or new, and I always stop at the Hundertwasser toilets in Kawakawa to pay tribute to the efforts in my weee small way :-) In other countries I always seek out interesting architecture and am a firm believer in "build it and they will come" so would love to see an attractive merger of bridge and landscape. Stunning idea.
Here is a great merger of building and transport system and it pays tribute to music which I figured , since...well, here's to Jimmy Hendrix. -
However I'm not sure about NZ, and maybe Graeme Edgeler (sp?) has an opinion. I know Rotorua council were trying to trespass people out of "their" city centre, which implies that the streets are private property of the council, and we only use them at their discretion.

I note that for different celebrations, such as those things women do before they get married,( some hen thing goin' on there:) Show Boys is very popular. I am not keen on the idea myself and twice now have declined, because, it's not my thing, but many thoroughly enjoy that and I hear stories of how raucous it can get.

But the day will come when you find yourself on the less powerful side of the equation - when the other people you're up against hold all the cards.
This is common for everybody, often everyday, in all walks of life, not just a selective few that don't fit the mould. We don't have a perfect system so, yes, the courts stick to the law (albeit I assume not good laws for the family court, but then it's the law that needs addressing). We have tried to respect different self employment professions (by legalisation) ,but, in many jobs, there is always some at the bottom of the ladder and some at the top. Consequences come with every choice made and I can't see why it always reverts to " Wont somebody think of the children." We as adults could try and make it better all around by acceptance of others choices without personal moral judgement.

Yes. The failure to see that there are women behind the 'boobs' (verging on the comic....) is paramount here. Steve Crow's spurious justifications are just as laughable.
Whats with the failure? It was obvious the tit is attached to the women, which was evident in the crowd being largely of the male persuasion although lets not forget all the guys who participated with "protecting " everyone involved in what appeared (to me ) to be an occasion worthy of celebration for men, women, and youth . Photos and news items are of 100,000 people enjoying themselves. Protesters used this parade for their own benefit, ( which was not to support any equal rights these women on the bikes had,) so who in the entire crowd, was in the wrong?I heard on 3 news one guy,(with baby) said he was there to support his daughters right and wish to be there to participate in the parade,so, even if the daughter wanted to participate in the protesting side (which she didn't), everyone was entitled. So why say it is wrong? Whose horse is being ridden here?
Steve Crowe and these women set out to protest an illegal arrest of a woman for baring breasts in public in 2003, and, why do we condemn them for that? I would even suggest that Mr Crowe is probably the best friend many of them have ever had.
I read further up, "not a good example". Why? Some people choose occupations that parents etc may not want . Happens all the time but all the occupations were legal and because of that, now, alot safer. And yes I know women who love their occupation (and all of their fringe benefits). I guess I like the freedom of choice if it makes 100,000 people smile in Queen St, Auckland. Ok Rant over :) -
I always hope that everything I teach my little ones - you know the sort of thing, subversion in every form, high spiritedness - pisses off all the grumpy primary teachers majorly. Crowd control 101 still seems to be popular in teacher training institutions these days.
Jackie, I was wondering if this is a general revolt against all primary school teachers by the likes of you, or are your kids spreading the word? And David Haywood's little Bob seems to be doing well with the ol' thought transferring:-)
