  • Hard News: John Key(nesian),

I'm a fairly fanatical anti-smoker, and I see it has some value there.
It has value for *you*. It makes *you* feel better. It doesn't help the smokers themselves. You can't hate people for their own good, to quote someone very clever whose name i can't remember.

    Yeah, what Danielle said

  • Hard News: All your Trade are belong to us,

Some of your information was amongst that provided. There is no suggestion that you were in any way related to these events last year, apart from being one of 3000 who traded with someone that was a suspect in this investigation.

I suggest that with population of Ruatoki being approximately 300 in the immediate area that all residents would be suspect until, by process of elimination, they were deemed otherwise by Police. After that it would be Wellington. It then would be prudent to collect the suspects trading details over the time the Police were investigating and they must have red tagged all weapons/military memorabilia enquiries, This could have covered a year but at the end of the day, it was established that Jamie Lockett was not friends with Police and Mr lockett's entitlement to disclosure, being that he was defending himself, exposed what goes on all the time and probably has done for as long as it was in the Privacy Act as mentioned .I actually appreciate Mr Lockett bringing this to the publics attention. He did also say, it could get into the wrong hands (which fed the media) and that he would not do that. The Police never tell us what they're up to so I would like to see better protection of disclosure documents.

  • Hard News: John Key(nesian),

Perhaps we could gradually pull non-accident related illness into the system, perhaps starting first with cancer and arthritis.

I am truly glad of a couple of reasons that some might consider here to not be priorities, but in trying to consider a few desires to "spending a billion" on our countries wellbeing,I am happy to say,I see billions being spent already on health and I admire anyone who knows what the next problem on the list is. Yep I think it would be roses if the country subsidised my plugs. At the same time I work with a woman who is trying to prevent death for women in gestation having predetermined difficulties (e.g. Diabetes).
I know what goes into getting funding, and this is needed every year.I have watched this for years and remember that everyone is vying for a piece of the health sector pie.I see women wanting cancer treatments, men wanting cancer treatments, obesity, diabetes, growing each year,so we get more millions and it's still not enough but having spent the last few years trying to get my shit together with the generosity of the NZ health system, I think our little country is really really excellent.Sure some days at hospital had some of the girls acting like they had their periods, (which incidently I think is normal) so what .I say, we could just work through a list, any list, and keep going each year to get through as much as possible and I do see Labour trying to do this.innit?

  • Hard News: Food Show 08,

A nice touch,if one is in Auckland, doesn't want the crowds attached to food shows or cafes, malls, etc, etc, etc is a visit to a couple of places (handy to lets say Mt Eden Prison).Next door to the Prison lies a few businesses and tucked in the first driveway is Sabato. Wonder through this delightful Deli, and along with the feast of European cuisine and greetings is the offer of free coffee. When first cup is finished, an offer for another follows. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, then up the street, left at the park,up to Mountain Rd and look for the entrance sign to the Tea rooms at the side of Mt Eden. Now if you want a sight to see, this is a garden worth the look.

Available from Milly's and a few others in Ponsonby. Then there is New Market (with a few Tea Houses also) I am pretty sure you get the seals here but not as cheap as I noticed in the UK and then you could try the malls but I cant get behind that an'. We can do anything ! ..jus'..costs a bit more, but then ,from Italy to our place...
