  • Hard News: Revival,

Ronnie was the heart and soul of The Faces.
I guess that makes Rod and Woody the cock and balls of the Faces.

I'm guessing there are no takers
    for Liver and Lungs...

...here's my take on umlauts and diareses

    Here there be tygers...

    Bloody cats

Philosophy is well within their purr view...

Let's get metaphysical... the union of beings

    paleoleft

didn't those pale ontologists discover a "Hobbit"
in Java recently? (well maybe a few years back...)
Probably just a case of primordial wharfieism!

    Which came first...

...as one of the better parts of that particular egg, Parson.

    ...next we'll have chicken's with Curate's noses!

    that rarebit's an omen Nemo...

...back to, and including, Winsor McCay.

hope you checked out Gordon Campbells piece on McCay's political cartoons in the latest Werewolf - fine stuff.

    Snail space...

Bogor was great. The Listener carried it from memory.

While some think Bogor carried The Listener

    Lenny Bruce Rick n Paul...

I refuse to believe there are people who both like The Jam and Leonard Cohen.

Suzanne took me down long before I was going underground with the Woking class heroes...
I guess that makes me a beautiful loser ...

  • Hard News: A few (more) words on The Hobbit,

I live in a damp gully in Aro Valley and get terrible reception for most channels...

...is that the gully that you can see down into from the steps to Kelburn - I always imagined it as a kinda Brigadoon perpetually frozen in the 1940s
    - or are you on the Boston Tce, Holloway Rd side...
it is a great area as I recall.

  • Hard News: A few (more) words on The Hobbit,

I'm surprised that I haven't seen any caricatures of PJ in a top hat and monocle.

Why, he could be the figurehead for that most marvellous of magazines The Neo Worker

...and I hadn't realised that Bono had bought 40% of Forbes magazine...
(and he and his Elevation Partners have just bought 1% of Facebook as well

    Greg Bear and movies...
Bllood Music would be a visceral treat....

...and his CIA type thrillers Quantico and Mariposa have a similar feel to Gibson's Spook Country and Zero History all ripe for transfer to the illusory arts... Hell, his books of The Way, Legacy, Eon and Eternity would be grand to see and what about a TV series of Zelazny's Princes of Amber books...
(though they really missed the boat making Damnation Alley into a movie)
