  • Hard News: The Politics of Absence,

    In the house today:

    & in stuff

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/5737904/John-Keys-cleaner-campaigns-for-better-wages

Goff - the content of his debate is great - his dlivery after the incident is measured for a time - he needs to stop barracking his face off to appear sincere and maintain calm and not elevate to the level of barking.. He needs to pause at times and let the truth of what he is saying resonate.

That National were blindsided by the credit rating down grade really shows they have lost their grip. They have advanced a credit rating down grade this as a part of the reason for assets sale and other policy measures.

OK we have the downgrade already let us just keep the assets OK.

I support Goff's position with the exception of CGT, which is not something I support.

The level of wages and cost of living – very sincere to run this out during election year – but wage and salary earners are always forgotten once their vote is cast and the election result rolls out.

You may recall the mother of the family in Mangere who died when the there power was turned off and her oxygen respirator stopped – in that household her husband was I understand working a 40-hour week.

The seat of a lot of tragedy born out of hardship is that people working 40, 50 even 60-hour weeks don’t make a living wage in relation to their outgoings.

In the economic equation that is the NZ Market economy the only thing that is kept in check is wages.

The Neilson Household Income $100,000 plus results - I really shouldn't be posting being I sit well outside the fortunate 43%; add to that my “posts” are unlikely to reflect those of the prime target advertising market income demographic.

The reason for ACT not having many billboards out is the Actoidz charged with the task keep driving out to the sites and forgetting what they came to do, they then go off and get some takeaways to satisfy the cravings.

  • Hard News: The Politics of Absence, in reply to Matthew Hooton,

The fact Mr Goff and his PR people can’t immediately see such opportunities – and I would have thought he could have, after 30 years in politics – surprises me and is why he will never be PM.

I have to agree - I consider Labour are still suffering from the PTS (Post Traumatic Stress) that comes from being dumped as a Government and this is why they can’t communicate as a credible opposition (alternative government) – they still blame the voters and haven't yet forgiven them - perhaps.

  • Hard News: The Politics of Absence,

There is no denying that First Citizen John Key the First is most beloved. He and the Mad Butcher have a mutual "most beloved" thing going off which they both could not capitalise on as the Warriors missed out.

That Fenton's comment were in bad taste is undeniable - the level of condemnation is outstandingly over the top - the reason I think is that politics and economics are just not a consideration in NZ life and in this election - insults, happy gestures, and all things tabloid carry more media sway.

Politically Key is OK he has squillions and nothing to worry about, the Nats are OK, Labour has resigned itself to a hiding - the people that will be left in parliament likely know who they are and they are OK with where they are at. The minor parties will get it on and rumble.

There is a pretty big under the radar push to get rid of the minimum adult wages and youth rates bubbling away which does not bode well for people who work.

Do Actoids dream of electric Puha? - Don brash in his dreams, perhaps, has visions of the Plastic Waka being used as the largest bucket bong on the planet.

I am appalled that honestly no many if any give a toss about what is going down in this country - it is so under reported it is as if it isn’t really happening.

The reduction in violence Pinker examines may well be attributable to what you could call the exponential ghlobal growth in communications technology.

Cave painters would not have made your or anyone’s version of middle age - in much the same vein people now reaching retirement age don't get to retire – they get to mostly work to death.

What I don't get, currently, is that there is so much buy into, by default, that everything is the result/fault of the Global Financial Crisis - whereas it is really a crisis of governance and failure to regulate financial markets and manage economies so that they fulfil their basic purpose, which is to provide for the wider populace and not an elite few.

The effect of eating too much lettuce is ”soporific” and at present we have a populace that has eaten too much lettuce.

Our Prime Minister First Citizen John Key the First was on talk back radio for an hour on the day that NZ's credit rating was down graded by two agencies and did not discuss policy – from the outtakes I listened to on their website. How sophomoric can it get?

Just watch the volume and substance of lettuce (media coverage) post RWC and pre election.

I bet Don Brash has two burnt butter knives in his cutlery door and will work himself to death turning the Act party into the Flopsy Bunnies so that post election he can sit around in the Beehive kicking back in bean bags chugging on a bucket bong discussing econmic reforms and the sale of everything whilst becoming the Keystoned partner in the next Nat Coalition Govt.

Note to beginners – Don't believe the urban legend.

Press knives together once glowing do not plant face on element.

As with most things they should be shared for best results.

hey guys, here's a blunt knife and a plastic bottle, good luck surviving!

By way of correction - you need two blunt knives, a plastic bottle, a stove and to have paid your electrical bill for this to work.
