Spent the afternoon on the Archery Lawn in the Botanical Garden.Bergamot at its best. Loved the fragrance of the herbaceous border . Very pleasant sounds created by Graham Wardrop one of New Zealands finest finger style guitarists.

Emergency hq? Not sure where it is but there is just nobody anywhere. The building is sans people.
The guard sits well away from the building. That does make you think what would happen if a big one would surprise us.

I would be happy to come to any sinkhole site and record it . As it is, i am off now to Richmond to find the one near New World.
PS: I have driven past the City Art Gallery this afternoon and a security guard is still there while all the grounds around him are cordoned off.
You would think Bob and his hard working team would get on to it . Tourist walk aimlessly about like drunken sailors with money to spend and nowhere to spend it.

Earthquake tourism has been rife and popular for quite some time. I took this image on the 23rd of June 2011 in Durham Street North.

Not yet . It seems they appear after liquefaction has drained away. Truthfully it does look like the entire area there is kind of hollow even under the tar sealing. What is interesting, is the speed by which sinkholes get fixed . As soon as somebody spots one, City Care is notified and it gets covered. up.
I guess they have to retain some kind of control to stop us form leaving. If the roads are patched up and we can ride our vehicles on them we have nothing to worry about
If only it were that simple .
