Cycling should be a normal mode of transport, not a cultish fashion parade at high speed.

Just watched TV3 News and John Judge knew what was coming, he looked like he was having a heart attack just watching Nick Smith dig the whole for himself.

Just heard Nick Smith said something to the effect of:

    - If he was given 30 days to live he'ld throw himself under a train on the 29th day so his family would be paid out by ACC.

I'm all kinds of angry about that.

    I'm guilty of being both.

Grrr Cyclist shouldn't be on the road, they should be on cycle ways.

But hey with the total subsidy given to Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles leaves little room for sensible modes of mobility.
Remeber a traffic jam is anything but, mobility.

    I must defend Rain Dances.

    They work on two levels:

1/Doing something is better than doing nothing & this is a party with a purpose. You can let your frustrations out in dance and beating a drum.

2/That drum and stomping on hard dry earth might assist/cause the clouds to compact together and actually start raining.

I'm still wrapped with the 'discovery' that all molecules vibrate. In my world view science is catching up with the Maori world view that all things have a life force or mauri. Where there is movement there must be a life force.
A huge misinturpretation on my behalf, sure, but I still see a relativeness in these two different world views.

Is it too late for the IRB to give it to Ozzy?

I need to know 'cause I was going to go there during the RWC here, but I not so sure anymore.

Paul, we do seem to be talking past each other a bit here.
    Enjoy your Sunday.

  • Speaker: How to Look Good as a Nazi,

Mark, I think you have a point.

The battle lines have been redrawn.

Mainly because we're running out of Nazis and there is an almost total acceptance of the horrors of the Holocaust and Nazism in general.

I also think the shame & horror that many Germans feel when talking about this subject is understandable and so the need to act upon it is real.

I reject Voltaires maxium "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". And instead opt for Poppers limits on freedom to protect all.

I trust you're not being obtuse with your comparison of Mexicans crossing the boarder and Kiwis going on an OE. Even though one is sanctioned by the two states involved and the other is expressly forbidden, negating the issue of 'self-selection', as this is the function of the states involved.
