    3rd Ring Road *2

Market under the Beijing-Tianjin high-speed rail line. Guess I should've checked the train timetable before I went.

Guess you gotta go back now ;)
Here in NZ we have the beginnings of electrification
and here we have a bygone era that fortunately didn’t have a bit more electrification.

Huge ginko no more, we called it the 'bird 0 clock' tree as in winter at 4-5 ish all the birds would gather in the branches. The poor people living under it will be relieved as it dropped a ton of smelly fruit every year, as well as it's rubbery leaves.

It’s been a stormy summer so far up here.

Already posted shots of this one, but two from slightly different angles.

Encased in glass – a traditional courtyard house with a fancy new concrete, glass and steel wrapper.

These "strange stones" are a dime a dozen, but I love the swirls on this one.

And I did go back to the high speed rail line, but timed it brilliantly so I could hear the train go past as I was directly underneath.

Look like they should have interesting legends about their origin...

That first shot would look so good upside down Chris.

You mean this one? I can't see any other first ones that would work upside down.

It never ceases to amaze me how many random, lost single shoes there are lying around. An awful lot more people than I ever see must find themselves having to hop* home and swap newly single shoe for a pair.

*probably not such a problem in NZ where going barefoot generally isn't such a bad idea as it is around here.
