  • Tony Parker,

Damian-Which pub are you doing Backbencher in Napier? How does one get into these things?

  • Damian Christie,

Hey Tony - just turn up, would love to see you there. We are going to be at the Gin Trap on Sunday the 24th of January, filming starts at 7pm but get there half an hour before that (or come a couple of hours early and make a day of it...)

  • Tony Parker,

Thanks Damian. Which local MP's have you got lined up?

  • Russell Brown,

Stuff's best-BDO-memories vox pops dwell heavily on overcoming insurmountable odds (rain, injury, shortness of stature) to have a triumphantly great time.

I should point out that I am looking forward to going -- this year with a bunch of people I work with. It's going to be fun.

  • Damian Christie,

@Tony - don't quote me on this, because it has been a bit of a moveable feast with the summer hols and all but:

    PAREKURA HOROMIA, LABOUR
    STUART NASH, LABOUR
    CRAIG FOSS, NATIONAL
    CHRIS TREMAIN, NATIONAL

@81st - what a great idea, sounds perfect for a bit of filming, thanks for the heads up.

  • Damian Christie,

Russ - you and I have randomly ended up standing next to each other at a few stand out moments - the Flaming Lips being the best example I can recall right now. Over the years I've had many many choice moments, from the Smashing Pumpkins playing in the sunshine back when you could take your beer anywhere, to Underworld mashing up 'Rez' with 'You can't always get what you want', 'Janes Says' as the sun went down... but yeah, nah, not this year for me at least. Have a good one for me :)

You should ask him to get his brother and mates along just to liven it up a little

Haha Simon I actually recalled that as I was writing it, then doubted myself, good to have it confirmed! And Happy New Year, Sir.

Should you be so inclined perhaps you could spare a little cheer for 617, he's likely to be struggling a bit.

    And to you too.

For all that they deserve credit as one of the few places, pre-DKD, where you could buy a half decent coffee in the early 1980s. And they revolutionised the art of the sandwich in Auckland town.
