A while back, I blogged about the Boosted bid to clear the music in Andrew Moore's 70s skate documentary No More Heroes so the fim can be commercially released.
Well, they've raised $2500 -- but the really big news just got posted this morning:
Amazing news today for NO MORE HEROES!!! With less than 24 hours to go on the Boosted project we are stoked to announce we have teamed up with iconic record label Flying Nun Records, and Mushroom Music Publishing to secure the release of our film.
Thanks to all of you who have contributed to this project. It is only with your generous financial support No More Heroes has reached this tipping point to succeed. All the funds you have donated will assist with the music for the film as promised, and now with the support of Flying Nun and Mushroom Music the film can become a reality. We will keep you posted on the production edit and of course the Film’s re-release event which you will all be invited to. If you know anyone who would still want to donate please tell them there are just hours left. We can now safely say we will be able to thank all contributors to the film in the closing credits.. this really makes you all a part of the film. Stay tuned on our facebook page as well. I will update you shortly with a link to the official Press Release – we wanted you to be the first to know!

Wow. I would have guessed Lorde being another 5 years older, on the basis of the talent she brings. That's a fascinating interview; she brings out insights beyond her age.

I really despair when a digital release has whats referred to as a flip side or b side - its a track, a single if you must or just some music. For many its a term that suggests its not deemed as good as the A side (from a marketing/radio angle at least) /rant
Me... I want to see and hear more Lorde remixes and edits... a little like this:
Her voice and delivery is perfect for some clever clogs or cheeky buggers to take it into realms her and her minders might not
This music stuff, its all very exciting right now

A really good long interview with Lorde by Katherine [is Awesome] Lowe.

Windsor wooooahh!
I’ve been fossicking away up in the north 40 of the Silverfish Ranch, and have found some gems I’ll send thru to AudioCulture soon – but I thought Russell might have fond memories of this first image;
and I ’ve been searching for this second one (and 3rd detail) for a while – a poster I made from lotsa Chris Knox Windsor ads (and some of mine – the stilted looking ones..)
Brings back memories… -
That looks like the start of an amazing band tree

It's a cover of The Replacements' 'Swingin' Party'. It's an admirably non-obvious choice, and she takes it somewhere:
Funnily enough, I suspect Lana Del Ray could do something pretty nice with that tune as well.
If you like your disco house big, you could give this Tommy Rawson joint a shot;
Post your response…
