Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. I loved Jimmy's 'Don't judge me' line before his review of 'Blue is the Warmest Colour' and I heartily endorse his decision to call 'Her' the best of them all.
I struggled with quite a few of these films and think many failed to live up to the hype. 'Her', on the other hand, sounded stupid and blew me away.
Jimmy makes an excellent film critic (and not just because he agrees with me!)

OK Jimmy, sold. I'll go see Her. Also, I refused to see 12 Years a Slave for precisely the reason you end up pitching as it's flaw - too damned good. Felt the same way about Schindler's List which I never finished, was far, far too bummed out by some scenes in it. One day when I'm feeling more happy than is decent, I'll rent them both.
Thanks for the reviews. I'm an absolute miser about my film budget so I rely on good advice.

Good on you, Jimmy. I didn’t like American Hustle either–and have never watched Mary Poppins. ‘Tonally inconsistent’–very sharp.

Intelligent, humorous and obviously deeply felt responses - this young man conveys his commitment to the art form with such exuberance!

Fantastic reviews. Infectious enthusiasm. Have to say, though, that I found 12 Years a Slave unsatisfying if that makes sense.
