  • Joe Wylie, in reply to ChrisW,

Why thank you Chris W. Someone I've never met specifically asked for a millipede after seeing the first board. I was rather impressed by that.

Foreground detail in the above - what the boy racers were drinking in 2009? Frankly, it appears damnation and hellfire no problem, but steer clear of the alcohol?

    And Flame Job Hogs.
There aren’t enough flame jobs in NZ art IMHO.

Joe, is there anywhere closer to mine home in Auckland that we can see your work?

It's 'bloody marvellous', to coin a phrase.

  • Joe Wylie, in reply to JacksonP,

    Very kind of you JacksonP.
I’m not a ‘proper’ artist in the gallery sense. The pictures take a while so I try to keep the overheads down.
The first of those boards was sold through a gallery group show, the second one was a special order by someone who missed out on the first one. I have no idea who owns them, which doesn’t mean I’m not curious.

BTW I've done heaps of technical photography-related stuff in the past, but I'm not a gifted picture=taker. Hugely respectful and appreciative of those that are.

Grrr! Who are these 'gallery sensibles' of whom you speak? But, yeah, you bloody well are.

    Too modest.

The exhibition seems to still have a web page. And, I hope you don't mind my digging this out, it appears at least according to the their website, COCA still have I Love the Nightlife in the stockroom.

    I love it too.

There you go again. So maybe I'm just hopelessly naive, but to me this just means you are an undiscovered talent.

We seem to have a few round these parts.

Anyway, I'll shuddup now, and go loiter on the Capture threads...

Stir is good, though I still keep coming back to Feed (for similar reasons).

  • Hebe, in reply to Sacha,

Mmm Feed works on many levels. Stir hints at an edgier content.

    Mash is a bit obvious.
