It sounded better if you were there, of course. It always does.
And much as I adore the spectacled one, Abba always sounds better with the close-harmonies and shimmering pop production intact. (Ingmar Bergman you can dance to!)

Music videos only, but perhaps that one is worth a special mention.
Actually, that video is one of the two vids I watch if I'm feeling a bit low. It perks me up instantly (little Tom!). The other video is Amanda Palmer performing Map of Tasmania on Media 7. Brilliant!
And thanks, Russell, for the mention. It's quite exciting seeing it right up at the top of the page. (Though I'm just as excited as news of the UMO album. Yus!)

Lockwood made some suss judgments too, on some wrong answers. But it didn't affect the outcome. Is that really our Tom?

Ahh Glasonbury 1987, my first as well. Spent a whole week there. Magic mushrooms, Mutoid Waste Company Car Henge, Gaye Bykers on Acid, New Order on the Pyramid stage with lasers. I never really came home that one.

Me too! One of the most amazing experiences of my life.
My buddy Greg and I were there till dawn on the Saturday night, bashing bits of metal on the mutated cars and just soaking up the techno-pagan vibe.
And then dawn broke over the beautiful white fog down in the valley. It was really, really beautiful.

This should bring back some fond memories. Also reminded me about the heavy vibe around the Peace Convoy and also of how crappy things had been in the UK during the 80's. The last time I went was 1995 and although the festival had become corporatised and lost some of its edge you still couldn't fail to have a good time. Tricky on the Jazz stage that year was the highlight for me. -

You do have fantastic taste, Robyn! If only a New Zealand musician were to be able to use Fassavoy imagery in their videos, it would be something like a cultural perfect storm.
