    Hark! a Herald?
    Hermes as

…protector and patron of travelers, herdsmen, thieves, orators and wit, literature and poets, athletics and sports, invention and trade.

of course there is that other Hermes…

I'm not convinced that the world is better or that our current versions have wrought new problems. Voyeurism, narcissism, materialism and advertising have been upgraded, and the issues or gizmos du jour stand on the shoulders of antecedents.
