  • Samuel Scott,

Airplanes and TV are made for each other. Its a much better match than trying to watch feature films anyhow. And quite often AIR(tv)NZ seem to have things that conventional NZ tv wont get for years if at all (like Eastbound & Down, or Big Chef Vs Little Chef).

Its almost like they just download the things...

  • David Ritchie,

Last Air NZ flight I was on I started to watch "Up In The Air" but the language had been bowdlerised so badly it was difficult to watch. So I put on "In The Loop" instead which, thankfully, was as ripe and uncensored as ever.

  • Graeme Edgeler,

He'd been rumbled, denied it (hardly a man of his convictions then?) and then came out swinging...

Chris Carter has denied denying it.

He says that when confronted by people from within Labour, he asked "what's your proof?" Given the things members of the Labour caucus were saying about him at the time, I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one by a long margin and the allegation he lied about being behind the letter as the spin it very likely is.

  • andin,

Weirdness abounds in this wee place.

Even in places where weird is harmful.

    You gotta laugh, really.

    I'm trying. When's summer?

  • Ian Dalziel,

    treasons to be cheerful...

Hard to believe this man – who has found the past few weeks stressful – wanted to be Minister of Foreign Affairs. Did he think it would just be gadding about in business class, nice dinners with important people and decent wine?

the thing that gets me, and hasn't been elaborated on or fully revealed (as far as I can find) is - what was an MP / Cabinet member doing taking a trip paid for by a foreign power (China): a) when he was supposed to be resting at home; and b) apparently without telling fellow Caucus members or the head of his Party...
it just looks like a highly compromising position to be in, to me... will we learn more?

Yeah, I find this the most disturbing bit, too, and it's barely got any airtime. It's just not okay.

  • Tim Michie,

Of course we would be naïve to think of the planet as moving towards one great melting pot
