  • Speaker: Correcting Auckland 2040's…, in reply to Glenn Pearce,

perhaps if the blue “out of scope” changes maps were published with an explanation of why particular areas were selected for the out of scope changes they would be better received and understood by people.

But why would they want that That is not the way the big boys, or girls, do business...

"Think about pricing. What has every telco in the world done in the past? It's used confusion as its chief marketing tool. And that's fine," said Gattung in a speech recorded on March 20.
"You could argue that that's how all of us keep calling prices up and get those revenues, high-margin businesses, keep them going for a lot longer than would have been the case.
"But at some level, whether they consciously articulate or not, customers know that's what the game has been. They know we're not being straight up."

    Ummm...

  • Speaker: Are we seeing the end of MSM,…, in reply to Alfie,

In the past such obvious errors would have been picked up by sub-editors before publication, but they don’t seem to be a thing any longer.

Yes, they are a thing and that thing is called outsourcing. I believe NZME uses Australians for this. You have to ask why they didn’t just use computers for the task, at least with computers you only have to punch the info. in once.

  • Hard News: Listening Lounge 2016: Drugs…, in reply to Joe Wylie,

The boy’s talent was apparent from an early age.

Indeed, he comes from a high pedigree of Plankers, Plank of America, Deutsche Plank, Plankers Trust, ASP. PNZ… the list goes on.

Max Key's first show on George FM is on February 16, where he'll unveil his new single, Forget You, rumoured to be about his Fathers attitude to the people of New Zealand

Or is that Hooton an’ Houlihan?
    Houlihan Lokey?
These guys call themselves a global investment bank. However, a look at their website reveals that they know not, of Li’l’ Ol’ New Zealand, we don’t exist on their map.
So sush, we don’t want those investment bankers to know we are here.
    Do we?.

  • Hard News: Sunday People,

Which brings us, neatly to George Washington Carver, as the humble peanut is also a legume. In his 1916 bulletin, "How to Grow the Peanut and 105 Ways of Preparing it for Human Consumption" Carver gave a short overview of peanut crop production and contained a list of recipes from other agricultural bulletins, cookbooks, magazines, and newspapers, such as the Peerless Cookbook, Good Housekeeping, and Berry's Fruit Recipes. He did not, however, include Peanut Butter which led to a conspiracy theory leading to a CIA operation involving none other than Stan Smith.

The Lexus IS-F 8 speed automatic transmission.
I didn’t go to Laneway but I did find this picture.
Anybody with even a passing interest in engineering would find this beautiful.

  • Hard News: Sunday People,

    In other neckbreaking News…
I have heard a rumour that TVNZ has taken up the baton from TV3 and are considering “Re-branding” “One News”.
“We are looking at making news more of an instant injection of news on demand” an informed insider told me “The news you want when you need it, a bit like your morning coffee” she told me. “Thinking along these lines we have come up with some exiting ways forward in brand recognition, instant information about things you want to be informed about , and as such have come up with a symbiotic approach to recognitional nomenclature invoking our commitment to News”
The shortlist of names, I am reliably informed is headed by a well canvassed favourite of staff and looks to be the new name of new News…
    NewsHit
“I think people will see it as new” she said.
    TVNZ
