Norman Mailer - The Executioner's Song. I must have read it half a dozen times now (and it's a pretty weighty tome), but never seem to bore of it. It's the best biography for getting in someone's head I've come across by far.
I wonder what Gary Gilmore would have done differently if he realised just what sort of a genie was being unleashed when he demanded his own execution. I suspect he wouldn't have done much different at all.

Chili Peppers are just AWFUL.
Coldplay - yeurgh!Couldn't agree more. I can't work out how these guys decide which bands are in competition for the world's best. Perhaps it's measured by the length of time since they last had an original or inspirational idea.

Today's Herald has an article on the World Music Awards in London. Seems we're all wrong about Nickelback as they've just been voted the worlds best - "Nickelback beat Coldplay and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to win World's Best Rock Group".
Go figure!
