  • Michael Stevens,

Well, Folsom Prison Blues I guess.

Off topic Russell, where have all the other writers gone?

I enjoy your columns, but the rest of the team seem to have scarpered. I know they've all got to earn a penny somewhere.

Can't you get some new writers on who will post regularly?

  • Hadyn Green,

I haven't done the dollar to pound conversion properly but it seems good that I still have a UK iTunes account.

  • peter mclennan,

yeah, whats up with Mark Sainsbury asking ridiculous ' how do you feel?' type questions not once but twice to David Bain in the media scrum outside court? What the heck? Lose your cool in the pack, Sainser?
And did anyone else think that Bain looks a deadringer for Dick Hubbard... just me then

  • Zippy Gonzales,

It's going to be an ad-supported world.

Peter Gabriel seems to think so.

    WoDBi?

We Are The Champions is definitely on it.

  • Malcolm,

He's probably still looking for the cassette player that comes with it, and wondering why the headphone plug is soooo big.

Seriously though, it must be a bit of Rip Van Winkle experience for him. What else has changed out of recognition while he has been inside?

Yeah, the question should've been: What's on David Bain's mix tape.

SNAP - I got the Power

    Shortland Street?

Ha - no doubt he'll be as perplexed as the rest of us at the reality TV phenomenon.

  • hamishm,

The media scrum was unedifying. As was the breathless guy standing in a feild near Te Kauwhata. Nice horsey pictures though, a subliminal wink to the bestiality flick?

  • Craig Muir,

    Free Me - Uriah Heep
I wanna Know what Love is - Foreigner
    Bliss - Dudes
    Loyal - Dave Dobbyn
    I would do anything for love, but I won't do that! - Meatloaf & H.Broad (2007 re-mix)
    Jailhouse Rock - Elvis

ok, you're right it is too easy...

Have to say I was totally impressed with Mr Bain from what I saw on the news last night. He faced that media scrum like a pro. No sign of bitterness or hatred, no ranting....he has a new career opportunity as a media trainer for NZ politicians.

  • Morgan Nichol,

My first question? "David, how does it feel to have gotten away with it?"

(Not that 13 years in jail is entirely getting away with it... But it's the thought that counts, right?)

I'm incarcerated in a studio at the Michael King Writers Centre wearing a large, colourful jersey. Once my publishers have their book, I will have my life back, and that shouldn't be too long now.

Seeing I have momentarily surfaced, what about Ian Wishart's ipod? Headless Chickens? Split Hens?

  • Rogan Polkinghorne,

Yeah yeah Hadyn, rub it in...

I think 'F*ck the Police' by NWA would probably be on there.

Maybe also Frenzal Rhomb's 'Who would be a f*ckin Cop?'...

I've posted once a week (on average) ever since I started on Public Address.

You may not read it (or like it), but I certainly post it!

The last few weeks have been science articles (which even come with an 'audio track' option, by the way):

  • BenWilson,

The complete works of Bane? Playlist might go:
    1. Speechless
    2. Fuck what you heard
    3. Can we start again
    4. The big gundown
    5. Both guns blazing
    6. Struck down by me

    etc..

    Poor taste...he might be innocent.

  • Michael Stevens,

I do read you David, and Mr Slack as well, but, and perhaps it is just my faulty imagination, there did seem to be more columns coming up every week.

Take it as a mark of praise - I really enjoy the stuff that comes up here - don't agree with all of it, but I like it and value it. Intelligent, written to a high standard etc.
