Great, so now the Government is publishing recreational drug recipes for all those bludging stoners to do with as they please. Mark my words, those beneficiary mums who just breed to get their hands on my tax dollars will be queing up at the pharmacy to buy all the m and c^2 they can to give to their loser gang boyfriends.

Apparently it's not the minimum wage that's affecting our economic growth - it's our Prime Minister:
Mr Key said... "I had led to uncertainty around developments and stalled projects, including those of national importance."

Why does that woman have a laptop on the golf course? I can explain away the high heels, but I don't really get the laptop...

I presume the DoL paper that recommended the increase to $12.50 had at least an assumptions-based analysis of the effect of that increase on employment numbers? Anyone seen it?

Odd to quote myself but I looked around le blogosphere and the Standard had this linked from the last review.
They're playing up that the report saw no loss of jobs if the minimum wage was increased inline with inflation. Of course, we are now in a very different employment market. Unfortunately it doesn't look the impact review behind their current suggestion is online.

    ALOL. Very good.
If I could add the single left-leaning defender-against-the-wave post:

I realise that all you fascist Nactionals just want to sell gravity-based property rates to all your rich wanker developer mates by keeping the masses ignorant of Einstein's brilliance but it won't work! When will the Herald give up on it's VRWC attack on grassroots science that threatens the elite and admit that the speed of light squared is an inalienable right for ALL people, not just the wealthy wankers that have wrung the sweat and blood out of us workers to get their Omaha McMansion?

  • Hard News: Only in a relative sense,

    Crushing cars.

For as yet unspecified offences. It ain't going to be speeding (cause, you know, middle-aged National voters do that too*), or drink driving.
It may be dangerous driving but I doubt that many boy racer antics fall under that law.

So if it's "having a loud modified car and driving it loudly" then we're going to end up with the excellent position of that crime being punished much more severly than driving while intoxicated or speeding. Both, I would suggest, demonstratably more dangerous. So, unlikely to happen. Makes for great car-crushing footage behind Paul Henry though while it gets talked about.

On Iraq, it would be interesting to get a genuine view from the security forces there as to whether they think their efforts specifically foiled attacks or if there just wasn't the threat level as before. Of course we'll never get that, but still...

  • Field Theory: He's good, but I still…,

Nadal, on the other hand, is just this bundle of energy, which means he's tiring to watch. He seems to bustle.

Which is now being bred out of him - his coaching staff are teaching him to play the more fluid traditional approach of Federer because the huge stress that his unorthodox, self-taught style places on his body will cut his career too short. His forehand for example will have a traditional cross-body follow through shortly.
The change in uniform is part of a "re-branding" because his look doesn't get the endorsements that Federer and the like do, so they are actively toning him down/growing him up.

(Can't find where I read this - was on a plane recently so plausibly it was the Qantas magazine in advance of Melbourne)
