My holiday update - spent the last 17 days of it in Cambs, London and Paris where it was a "warm" day if it got over 1degree. I have read some of the stories in here and wept.

Nor is the person who called a restaurant in Auckland _Pompino_, I know this for a fact.
Aren't they? I always hoped they were and were just having fun at the Kiwi's... I may open a restaurant in Torino called Blowjob.

I cannot lie, Hadyn is the Google Docs ninja.
Sneaks unbeknownest into you compound at night, collaborates your spreadsheet and leaves? That's one pointlessly excellent ninja...

Hey that's a swanky google spreadsheet ya got there!
Cheers for the Ronson/Alley version of Womanizer, very nice. And can I recommend the Chew Fu version of Love Lockdown. Tis also nice in a way that actually makes the bloody vocoder sound appropriate... -
Has it been taken down Mark? LOL
I like the campaign idea (get random ol tourists to talk about how they're loving it) and like the fact our PM got in there. But it was such a cringeworthy performance... -
It used to be that amongst all the trolls you'd find serious commentary and analysis, but nowadays it's getting to the point where you wade your way through all that crap and find absolutely nothing from any non-trolls.
And isn't that a shame - I've probably said it a few times before but there are a few of us who'd really like a non-partisan-but-sensibly-on-the-"right" blog that could actually analyse and discuss some of National's policy prescriptions from that side of things.

Weta Workshops should get in on that whole steampunk stylee and build PCs. An iMac really wouldn't suit this office...

And the latest Herald commentary (not editorial) from Audrey Young, where she highlights that Bill English has mildly praised Cullen for leaving them in a "reasonable position, having saved for the rainy day" is causing the most extraordinary cognitive dissonance over at Kiwiblog.
It's hilarious to read down to the end: http://www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2008/12/how_bad_is_labours_legacy.html -
Hmmmm, researching conspiracies, fears a simultaneous EMP blast and the takedown of the Internet...
HE KNOWS SOMETHING! GET HIM! -
Kyle, that's not true at all. You can make money renting out yachts. Just as Hertz makes plenty of money buying brand new sedan cars as investments.
Technically the same, but from what I understand the super yacht business doesn't stack up the way.
The vast majority of them are privately owned and then rented out to try and recoup some cost - they are certainly not a profit-making business...And the article specifically suggests that they used it to entertain guests - I think it's fair to say this wasn't the standard asset investment debenture holders understood would be happening with their funds huh...
