  • Hard News: About a Cat,

hadyn, don't fret. the vet-cone actually has two purposes.

    1. to make him look silly

    2. to amplify noise.

once you guys chortle at him a few times, he won't feel like eating at all.

  • Hard News: About a Cat,

And then it practices it's Japanese.

i think we might have discovered ross dallow's issue.

Boy cat once stole a whole fish from a neighbour and dragged it into our lounge - the proceeds of a day's fishing

his cat is japanese, and expected him to make sushi. "oi! you! opposable thumb-boy! make with the knife skills!"

  • Hard News: About a Cat,

dylan that's a great story. even taken with a grain of salt (he was after all in shock and drifting in and out of consciousness), it's easy to see where the idea of 'familiars' comes from.

they're wise and strange creatures cats.

but then... otoh... sometimes they're brutal killers.

i once knew some dealers here in wellington who used to marvel that their siamese would bring in mice, carefully remove and eat the victim's kidneys, then leave the remainder. eeesh.

  • Hard News: About a Cat,

Though there was an early '90s Rotorua indie band called "Kalamari Bushmen" so maybe you trained it by making droney guitar noises? ;)

heh. that or just played a 'The Wedding Present' album to her.

    they were also identical anyhow...

not that the cat realised it.

  • Hard News: About a Cat,

    i agree, cat's don't speak english.

but i've found them to be incredibly responsive to clicks and shrill whistles.

i had a cat in auckland that i trained by making nothing more than kalamari bushmen noises!

  • Hard News: Rockin',

when I saw some of the photos showing behind the bar I thought it just looked like a typical night out in the West.

    thought exactly the same thing.

i was loling at many of those photos. the one with the young girl holding "a bit of concrete that broke off the driveway" was classic. "massive destraction" more like.

and we got the quake here. actually smaller in wellington that others last year.

so, happy culturally neutral-generic festive season to everyone.

  • Busytown: Pavlova Paradise,

Also like Sam says, posting is a way to work out for yourself what you think. I do that all the time with the blog.

absolutely. blogging and arguing in comments has actually improved my ability to write and argue subjects in my day-job.

something that a lot of education did not...
