What I find astounding is that there is a significant proportion of the mistakes which will show up in a spell-checker. Justive gets a nice red wiggly line under it when I type it here - how come the headline writers don't get to see (or notice) something like that ?

Those tax brackets are never going to work if the corporate rate stays at 30%.
I also think that the top tax rate should never exceed 50% on principle.

I think that any poll of the general public will suffer from limited knowledge. Many people would only be able to name English as a potential leader, because they don't actually know any other National MPs.

Let’s just hope there are no major scandals or actual terror or economic threats as that could actually create enough fear and panic for the voters to pick an “outsider” like him.
I’d say Trump himself is the “actual terror or economic threat” for quite a number of voters, and (as you say), this will motivate them to vote.

My guess would be that the follow up survey is being done purely to "engage" the public, so as to increase TVNZ viewing. The data being captured is irrelevant, and probably of very little use.

I have sympathy for your argument. However, the number of lengthy posts you have made here stating that you don't want to waste your time with all this, kinda destroys your argument.
Tick, rip, seal, post is a lot less time than write, write, post, write, write, post.

Back in the early nineties the small Auckland-based company I worked for put in a tender for the Telecom Calling Card project for $300k and 3 months. After it was successfully implemented on budget and only slightly late, the Telecom project manager confided to us that he thought it unlikely that we could do it, but took the punt since the other two tenders (from overseas companies) were $1.5M and $2.1M and 15 and 18 months development time. He figured it was worth a gamble, because if we completely failed it wouldn't significantly increase the time and cost of the project.
From what I know now, I think that it was an extremely courageous move on his part. I wish more managers had the perspicacity to punt on small NZ companies, rather than pouring money into the coffers of big overseas businesses.
