She seems to have unabashedly used her power as Governor to pursue a family feud, and lied about it.
So not only has McCain destroyed his "experience" card, he's also destroyed his long-running "corruption-fighter" card and handed fuel to Obama's "stop the self-serving, special-interest nature of Washington".
There must be SOMETHING in here that we just haven't noticed? I suppose it's possible their internal polling was picking up a bunch of no-vote ultra conservatives?

Bloody Gustav's a cat 5 now. Shit. Not what we need. Hitting the road at dawn.
Best of luck James, hope any damage is minor.

I think anyone could be forgiven for flubbing a line or two in that particular environment.
The size of that crowd was pretty amazing, for a convention acceptance speech. Nuts.

I actually clapped when he said that. It's so strong because it appeals to anyone's better nature.
You would say that though, you bloody commie.
=P
At least McCain put out a decent enough "well done" ad in advance of the speech. -
His covering off the attack bases and the lets give up the charade that "people cannot disagree without challenging each other's character and patriotism" was really well played.
I chose to read the transcript first so as not to get suckered by his silver tongue =)
Watching it now and its even better in the delivery -
Can I swear on here?
Cause I gotta say - that was a fucking great speech Obama. I may not like your protectionist tendency but that was so well judged, particularly the choice the words of MLK to use. It even laid out a pretty clear (although tough to deliver) policy intent.
Impressed.

So no-one read to the end of my piece? :-(
Or read the title either it seems =)
Don't worry, I did - and even kinda half almost possibly understood a partial amount of it. On the second read.
But when I DID get there, I agree - that Compact is very cool although fraught with all kinds of obvious challenges from those who disagree with it. -
This ETS will meet the Kyoto emissions liability
Rly? I was under the impression that it would mitigate but not meet it.

I'm not quite sure what to think of the PM being told this back in February.
You obviously don't go firing Ministers because someone made an accusation, and the screams of "she knew he was lying" are a bit absurd - she didn't know that at all and was in fact assured otherwise. But when you have statements made to you by an alleged donor that directly contradict the statements being made in public by that Minister you can't just let them go nowhere?
